he also tends to destroy a team if he's around too long.

he can do great when all the talent's already there...but he left tampa in a real mess (especially from that first year on)

If the team's hiring a new coach though, I don't see him ending up it (along with no promotion from within, and not cowher either)


of course, that's not what this thread's about at all

I used to dislike JoPa ... for years, but I've grown to like him (yeah, still hate that he beats us everytime we play him). He's always been pretty upstanding, so I'm sure he wasn't dissing the Vols.

Keep the mattresses safe, guys, probably need them tonight.

It's amazing how he can even remember that Gruden was a GA at UT (or anywhere else) over 20 years ago.

The man knows tons about football, but he's got a bad rep in many players eyes. Thats why he got run out of here, more than anything.

Sounded like a "you did just fine" to me, being with those "Tennessee guys". I believe Paterno had a lot of respect for Coach Majors. He wrote about it in his autobiography. He liked Vince Dooley too. Jackie Sherrill? Not so much.
