Did Jimmy Hyams just ruin what's left of his career?

Jimmy must have a great source for this. I mean, when we make fun of Jimmy it is for being the last to report something.

I think we have our guy, maybe just a few last details being ironed out.

Wouldn’t it be ironic if the thing that ruins Hyam’s career is posting information prematurely.

Alabama: sucked for 10 years in late 90's/early 2000's = hire Nick Saban
Miami: sucked for 10 years from 2006-2015 = hire Mark Richt

Tennessee? have sucked for 10 years (arguably more) = can't hire a HS coach

This is why it's not fair.

Coaches can certainly lie out their ass about taking jobs but Jeff Brohm is telling recruits he's not going to Tennessee.

Not looking good

Based on, I assume a tweet from a single recruit dated 10:30 am this morning? I'll disregard...what else is he going to tell them???? And it's certainly true, at the moment anyway.

So, was Brohm using this to get a pay raise, or did the Boosters just do something behind the scenes?

I think its simpler. John Currie has screwed up every major process he's been a part of. Every single one.

Look at this coaching search, the K-State handling of their basketball program, Bill Snyder's hatred of him, running off Phil Fulmer, keeping Butch Jones too long.

He's an f-up. He's doesn't need help to screw this up.

By Richt logic...we should be ok with a Miles or Sumlin hire then.

We should be ecstatic with that, and would have been for Gundy, and still should be pretty happy if it's Brohm. But if Brohm falls through, and we end up with Joe Generic, this administration should be purged and rebuilt from the ground up.

My guess is that he gave a verbal commitment but hasn't spoken to Purdue. Not to mention they have to look into the language in his current buyout regarding the buyout.

As much as we make fun of Jimmy, this seems like somebody leaked info too soon. Jimmy is notorious for being last because he does his job thoroughly.

I’m being told Brohm accepted but wanted to tell his players first. Then Hyams leaked it, Brohm got mad, and now it looks like the deal may be off. Hyams was supposed to wait to tweet that after Brohm met with his players.

Going to be interesting. Hyams is rarely wrong when he goes on record with something not related to black jerseys.

Should be fun to see how this plays out.

i question your definition of "fun".

Then the deal was sabotaged. Is this Haslam giving Jimmy the info to tank the deal to get back at those who opposed the Schiano hire?

The irony of so many people on here who have used Hyams as a punching bag for being later than others who are now crying about him being first is so great, but over their heads.

We didn’t hire Brohm? I better see some fire Hyams signs soon. Do we have anything any Tennessee that is competent?
