With major conflicting reports from sources like Chris Lowe and folks in the Indiana region.......

Did Hyams just pull an all time Hyams and incorrectly report UT will soon announce Brohm?

Wow, this would be a huge pile of steaming hot dog poop to step in if he did this.

How embarrasing, irresponsible and unprofessional would this be.

The reports are being walked back......

that's why people should step back slowly from the ledge...just wait for the official statement that's supposed to come from Mr. Currie's mouth...:):)

That'd be the final straw for both Currie and Hyams wouldn't it? It would have to be. How would either one recover from today? Would be a complete and utter disaster (again)

Going to be interesting. Hyams is rarely wrong when he goes on record with something not related to black jerseys.

Should be fun to see how this plays out.

Is this all a smokescreen for Gruden's announcement? How could there be two mysterious photos from the same day of the back of what looks like Gruden's head?

If he ends up being right, he'll probably have redeemed himself. If he's wrong, it's just Jimmy being Jimmy.

If you didn't believe there was a battle at the top for control of the Athletic Department and the information coming out of it...well, it's clear there is some serious confusion about who is calling the shots.

Someone remind me, in '08 did Hyams report we were hiring Butch Davis when it was really Lane? For some reason, I have a hazy memory of that happening.

At this point we know all we're gonna get is a mediocre at best hire....now if we find out even this guy Brohm backed off at the last minute?...Oh my gawd. I'm kinda hoping we get the guy cuz I'm scared what's left after him. Not that I want Brohm....or was hoping for him...but considering who is doing the hiring...he may be the best we can do to salvage some sort of respectability in a horrible, embarrassing coaching search. If that makes sense.

Coaches can certainly lie out their ass about taking jobs but Jeff Brohm is telling recruits he's not going to Tennessee.

Jimmy must have a great source for this. I mean, when we make fun of Jimmy it is for being the last to report something.

I think we have our guy, maybe just a few last details being ironed out.

He'll find a way to back out, just like he does when caller's call him out on the stupid stuff he says:

"No, I never said that. What I said was:
Tennessee will soon announce the hiring. Purdue coach Jeff Brohm after going 6-6 this year. Brohm was 30-10 at Western Kentucky. Buyout is $5 million, drops to $4 million Dec 5. Still owes Purdue about $750k for leaving WKY."

I was jut saying UT would announce a hire soon, and by the way here's some Brohm stats

So, was Brohm using this to get a pay raise, or did the Boosters just do something behind the scenes?
