Hyams said that he has heard, and he believes it to be true of course, that as Scott was cleaning out his office that Kiffin stopped by and was saying goodbye to him and said that he wished he could have waited a bit longer because he might have kept him on. Scott then told Kiffin that he would have liked to have stayed but he couldn't wait any longer and that he told Kiffin he has trouble making decisions.

Then Hyams went into this thing about how Kiffin is showing his inexperience because he can't make up his mind about what he wants to do and things like that.

He (Hyams) also isn't very impressed with the staff Kiffin has so far, including Orgeron and Monte. Said Kiffin is having trouble getting the guys he wants and then can't make up his mind about if he wants them or not.

Who cares what that hack thinks? He got fired from the KNS, that tells you all you need to know.

I heard this as well. From what I heard he said he was less than impressed with O. Didn't hear him say anything much about Monte. I do remember he said he thought CLK has drawn out his selection of staff longer than he should, using the story about Scott.

Hyams is much better at looking like a grumpy old lesbian than he is at talking sports.

He's good for nothing...unless you like reporters who are 48 hours late on breaking news.

I don't think snap decisions should be made when making a staff from scratch. As long as he has the meat of it put together by the end of the dead period (which he has), I don't mind.

And trying to report in a different vein than the rational approach.

He seems to be the type to be controversial and hope that in 2 years his out-of-nowhere approach comes true so he can wave papers with his prediction around saying "I knew it... no one believed me, but I said it would happen".

He's like the drunk dad that was abducted in Independence Day.

Hard time making decisions but yet CLK said from the start that the staff wouldnt come together overnight and asked for people to be patient. Honestily, if this hack isnt impressed with the staff thus far, it should tell everyone all they need to know.

So were is the evidence that Scott and Lane had words.

Sounds like Scott was taking care of himself, which is what he is supposed to do.

Hyams has no clue what is going on, and with these types of comments never will.
He needs to tune into VN and get his info. At least our opinions are better than what he calls facts.

Sounds like Kiffin was just being complimentary and kind with Scott on his way out. Sort of a "We really hate to lose you...I wish you'd have waited, because I'd like to have had a chance to make something happen for you here on our staff." It's easier to say those things after somebody resigns than to have to tell them the truth as you're letting them go 3 weeks later.

Making decisions includes going after the guys you want first and waiting until later to talk with guys who aren't your first options. Scott's perspective might have something to do with him not being Kiffin's #1 pick for the job.

I don't see CLK standing in the office doorway with tears in his eyes saying.."I wish you wouldn't go..."

This is a football program, not Brokeback mountain...

Brent Hubbs disputed Hyams' report. Stated that Kiffin and Coach Scott left on good terms with the hopes of working together somewhere down the line. No bad blood btwn them.

Funny thing, Hymens was kissing CLK's a@# just a few minutes ago.

None of those guys wanted to see Fulmer go really. I personally like Hyams and he has his opinion. The fact is I think he loves Orange. Remember, he is a sports reporter.
