Did Helton blindside Pruitt

So Helton will receive a base salary of 800K with 400K in incentives. And UT did in fact waive the $860K buyout for leaving before March 1. He was making 1.2 Mil at TN....

I don't see how Will Friend is even a candidate for OC when earlier this year it was reported that the AD Fulmer was helping coach the o-line a little in practice. What next is Fulmer going to be in the booth helping Friend call plays. If Will Friend is named OC it might be worth another Schiano Sunday around here.
That would be PF trying to secretly insert himself back as HFC again. If he tried that route this program would be DEAD!!!

Fulmer needs to walk away and be AD. I can understand an NFL or NHL GM being out on the field helping or watching film to grade players..but the AD.. the OL was atrocious but surely Pruitt wasn't that desperate.

Given the immediate reports following the Vandy game of Helton being fired leads me to believe that parties mutually agreed to part ways prior to the game. The WKY job was already in the works. I do not think there was any backstabbing it just looks that way because from what I have seen this year, Pruitt runs a tight ship and doesn't let internal affairs leak.

SMOKE SCREEN

This hire must be someone with experience in the SEC, and someone who brings in an existing knowledge of defenses in this conference. This is not the WAC or AAC or CUSA. This hire needs to be an SEC hire. Period.

Preferably someone who has been an HC before or is capable of being one now. Pruitt is not just a DC, he's one with exceptionally little offensive experience. The OC that works for him needs to be an established professional who can manage the offense on his own, like an associate HC type.
