Reports say White wasn't pleased with Hart's buyout offer. Does Tyndall's hiring indicate that Tyndall accepted the low buyout or did Hart increase it?

I get the feeling that Tyndall wants to be a VOL, and he was willing to accept the Hart's offer. I am 100% behind Tyndall. He is my coach!

Honestly, he is an upgrade! For heavens sake, he did the Harlem Shake and The Dougie! I seriously look forward to the excitement he will bring to the program!

Go Vols!

I agree with you. I think CDT wants to be here. I don't think DH increased the buyout. DH has put TN back in the black after MH blew through about 70 million. I think CDT is confident in his abilities. I don't think he is worried about the future. He knows the future is bright at TN.

Doubt we'll ever know what the numbers were with White and Tyndall, we don't know the specifics yet.

I did find it interesting that Tyndall's contract was always a 4 year extension in Mississippi. It's state law that no state contract employees can sign for more than 4 years according to the story from his last contract signing.

It's a wonder they can get any coaches in the entire state.

I don't get why he wants 6 year deal intead of 5. Correct me if I am wrong but should contracts just have annual salary and buy out essentially? I know all contacts have years on them, just don't get why since can be bought out.

Buy outs are based on years remaining on the contract in many cases. Amazingly Zo's was not. Him wanting a 6th year may mean his is structured that way.

Tyndall's deal is reportedly 6 years at 1.6 mil a year plus obviously we will have to pay his So Miss buyout. It hasn't been reported what the buyout is but I am really pleased this is a 6 year deal.

I've saw 500k reported as his buyout, but I've also saw that it's 35% of what remains of his contract. He'd just signed an extension to put it back to 4 years at 500k a year, or 2 million owed. 35% of that would be 700k.

We will never know exactly what White's deal might have included. With as fast as Hart finalized Tyndall's deal, I would bet Tyndall took Hart's offer as is. Sounds like he wanted 6 years instead of 5, but that is just about meaningless with contracts now a days. I guess it may help recruit? "I just signed a 6 year deal" sounds better than 5 I suppose to a recruit.

No doubt it sounds better. Why not go ahead and do it if it costs little to nothing.
