Did fans chant F U florida?

Yeah, I missed where I accused you of anything other than diverting attention from the actions of UT's student section to the perception of UF's fan base. See post #303.

If you haven't read a post from me on this thread acknowledging that UF has it's bad apples too, you're simply choosing not to to read those posts. Hell I even said as much in my last post you quoted.

It's like you're trying on purpose not to make sense.

This is the last post from me on the matter:

1. Find the post where I thought it was acceptable behavior. You can't because it did not happen. Quite the contrary where I said on at least two occasions that it is NOT acceptable to chant FU anybody on any occasion.

2. I don't have the time to go back through the thread and read every post you have made in the thread. I am going by how you have responded to me. You accusing me of diverting when I gave you two separate opportunities to condemn actions of own fans and you failed to do so. I mentioned having our bus literally almost turn over by a mob of gator fans resulting in one 70+ year old lady having to go to the hospital for stitches in her head and your response was it happens everywhere and if I didn't like it I should consider not traveling to road games. Not my words, yours.

3. To help you understand why I have a problem with you I'll ask you these questions: Did you go to the Gator boards and tell them how embarrassing it was to have your coach act like a punk on national TV? My guess is no. Did you go on your gator board to tell them how embarrassing it was for your player (#9) to be tossing gatorade into the stands during the game with the Vols? My guess is no. How do you think your Gator fans would treat me if I was to go to the gator boards and tell them how embarrassed they should be of both of these actions?

4. As to me questioning your intelligence, that was all in fun. I didn't mean any harm but I can understand how difficult it is determining context and internet on a message board so if I offended I apologize.

5. Like I said earlier, I enjoy having your perspective on the board. As a former player you can offer a unique perspective. You don't seem to troll much and that's refreshing and I respect you for that. I am not however a jock sniffer like some of the sheep on this board. If you say something I think is out of line I'll call you on just you do others. Like I said earlier, I don't condone the behavior of the UT students but we don't need someone that represents another fan base that is ten times worse coming in telling us how embarrassed we should be.

Again... I don't care what they do there. I care about how we treat our opposition.

I applaud you for hospitality and would expect nothing less from a Volunteer. But, don't begrudge another fan for calling out a gator for criticizing our fan base when his is ten times worse especially when you have never experienced the cesspool that is Gainsville. On our way from the bus to the stadium it was gauntlet of people cussing, vulgar signs, throwing stuff at us, spitting at us etc.

This board is literally the only place I've ever even heard mention of this practice. I've never seen it there. Never heard about it first hand from anyone trustworthy. Or even not trustworthy. I seriously doubt anyone would go to that much trouble.

I am not trying to get in a "bad fan" fight, and I didn't experience urine balloons. But there was a water balloon thrown at my windshield, and the walk back to my car in 99 may have been the worst I have had in all the games I have been to. I have been to about 10 SEC venues along with Notre Dame, Cal, OU, and the SEC Championship. Back in the day, it was tough for opposing fans at the other's stadium.

Morals people. Something as simple as showing some respect. Don't stoop to that level. It's just disrespectful. I personally could care less how you speak in your own home or around your friends but I can assure you that someone's kids, preacher, sweet grandmother and grandfather were in attendance yesterday and they don't deserve to hear that kind of language. Like I said I personally don't care, but I have morals and respect. You should too.

If anyone peed in a balloon and carried it around for a couple of hours, well, they are as stupid as stupid gets.

Well, I've done this before, but it wasn't for a football game. It was for...uh...a thing.

...I don't have to explain myself to you. I don't feel the need to explain myself.

Always a friend of a friend that it happens to..... :eek:k:

I heard of a guy who was eaten alive by Gator fans.

Or maybe it was actually alligators...or, you know what, I think it was a bear. But it could have happened. It was like 1993 I think.

True story, my roommates brothers, girlfriends, cousin new the guy.

As a current student, yes this was us who canted F U Florida at the end of the game, as well as all game long. We do this for pretty much every game. Most games it is not warranted. My favorite being some of the students chanting F U Utah, when we were playing Utah STATE. However, this game it was a little different, because I'm pretty sure it was Dante Fowler, came behind the Florida bench and threw water in the face of a student on the first row during the 1st quarter. It was game on after that.

As a Gator fan I'm really sorry you ever had a bad time at a game in Gainesville. It should always be a fun visit with quality rival fan interaction, not childish antics.

Thanks for responding.

I'll respond to your points individually.

I never claimed you said the FU Florida chant was acceptable behavior.

Perhaps if you took the time to read my posts, you would have found several examples of me being critical of UF fan behavior. You just failed to READ the posts, by your own admission.

Here's a sample of what you missed...

I wouldn't put anything past our students that night.

You've encountered a-hole UF fans in Knoxville. I've encountered a-hole UT fans in Knoxville. We're both right.

I don't discount any negative experience a UT fan encountered in Gainesville.

At no point have I said UF fans were angels, and I've gone as far to say if UF students chanted something similar I'd call them out on it.

The chant was classless yesterday...and I've called out UF students for acting like jackasses on many occasions in 30+ years of following UF football.

On several occasions I've acknowledged witnessing UF fans behave poorly towards visiting fans.

If you haven't read a post from me on this thread acknowledging that UF has it's bad apples too, you're simply choosing not to to read those posts.

My views on Will Muschamp are well documented. He's a half wit caveman posing as a football coach, and I've said as much here, GatorCountry.com, Tiger Droppings, Sunday school and in client meetings.

Likewise I've made my opinions knows about UT's students here and on other forums...and I've been critical of UF fans in various forums also.

As for our players' behavior, I don't condone it. In fact I'm surprised Pittman didn't drop that cup of Gatorade while attempting to throw it at UT's student section. He's got more drops than catches this year.

No offense taken.

I represent myself, my family, my church, the company I work for, MUCH more frequently than I represent the University of Florida.

If you want to associate my opinions solely on my alma mater, or your experience with UF fans on a fall Saturday, and not other factors that shaped my value system, that's on you.

It's not like I'm the only person here who didn't like what happened yesterday.
