Did fans chant F U florida?

So let me get this straight. I want you to think about this long and hard cause I know you're a Gator and not too bright. So you think students yelling FU at a ballgame is embarrassing but having fans physically assault opposing fans to the point it requires a hospital visit is just big boy sec football and if you don't like it you stay at home?

You mean like the UF fan who was assaulted by several UT fans in 1996, and spent several nights in the hospital recovering?

There's stories like that on both sides.

UT fans aren't all Eagle Scouts, and all UF fans aren't members of ISIS.

No need for a personal attack IMO. However, from the stories I've heard, I will never attend a game in the Swamp. Some of my family went to a game there and witnessed an older lady having food and drinks thrown on her. I've also heard of assault and vandalism to Vol fans' cars as well. I don't condone the chant though. But, let's not act like FL fans and students have a stellar reputation.

Of course we're not and of course you're not. I'd say we're pretty evenly classless. But you calling us classless with our chant is the pot calling the kettle black.

Nobody is claiming UT fans are angels. You're on a TN message board criticizing UT fans when your own fan base is just as bad. If you don't get where some might have a problem with that then you took more hits to the head in your playing days than you should have.

I was just messing with him on the not so bright stuff.

Students will always act like that.

The problem I was irritated with yesterday was the blantant disrespect, arrogance, and confrontations by young (in their early 20's) and likely inebriated people. Never saw any actual grown adult acting a fool.

I'm sure it goes on everywhere, but when you have people yelling:

"He's a p***y!"
"He's a piece of s***!"
"Mother******!"
And so on, it's disgusting.

It got to a point other Vol fans were yelling at Vol fans because of their behavior.

I'm on a UT message board responding to a thread about UT students making vulgar chants on national TV.

At no point have I said UF fans were angels, and I've gone as far to say if UF students chanted something similar I'd call them out on it.

The last thing I'd do is say...."well (insert school name)'s students suck too".

I was at home so not offended personally. But as I heard it on the tv, really my first thought was that the fans doing that were embarrassing the University of Tennessee.

If I heard that at a UF game I know I'd feel embarrassed by it.

As if the University of Tennessee could be any more embarrassing.

And by the way, it was pathetic hearing that chant. Pathetic. I don't care what happened to you one time in Gainesville. Be the bigger person and grow up. If you can't, screw right off and act like an idiot in your own home, but not in Neyland.

And quit whining about Muschamp. He shouldn't have said it, but he's a dolt, and dolts will respond to other dolts like those immature sorry representatives of our fan base who were chanting that trash.

What I learned today... Tennessee is a leading manufacturer in wet blankets that are afraid of a word, as if hearing said word leads to rape and murder. People get emotional, and they curse. Get off your high horse.

Rationalizing classlessness. That is what it is.

Do you know the word "irony"? You already defended the behavior of your Gator fans excusing it because it's big boy SEC football and you should stay home if you don't like it. Maybe you should stay home. Got a littleof your own medicine yesterday and all of asudden it's embarrassing. Lol. Oh and BTW I didn't like it either just find it ironic a Gator comes in here a) sanctimonious like. And, did you know your own Gator player, #9, was tossing Gatorade into the stands?

The chant was classless yesterday just like it was in 2010, and I've called out UF students for acting like jackasses on many occasions in 30+ years of following UF football.

I've seen the best and worst of just about every fan base in the SEC, and outside of Vandy (because they don't care), no fan base can claim some moral high ground over another.

Acknowledging poor behavior by UF fans is not the same as defending or condoning it.

And you question my intelligence...

Thanks for not rubbing it in, Lawrence. Lord knows plenty of posters have served up opportunities for you.

Glad to have you on the board.

Did they to you to read? Where did I defend it? I said I didn't like it. I gave you the perfect opportunity to criticize your own fan base when I told you about my experience and you defended by saying that was to be expected and maybe I shouldn't attend road games. You or your fans have no right criticizing Vol fan's behavior. Your fan base is know as the lowest class group of fans in the SEC and probably the country. Calling out other fan bases is laughable.

People that treat other people like crap because of the team they root for need to grow up. That goes for UT fans, UF fans, all fans. If you feel like it's ok to treat people poorly because they support your rival team, you're an idiot.

That being said, I didn't really understand the "you're a Gator so you're not too bright" comment. UF is actually a pretty good school.

You keep taking personal shots and questioning my intelligence, but your first attempt at a complete sentence failed...brilliant.

Go ahead and use the edit feature so everyone knows when you fix that post. :eek:lol:

On several occasions I've acknowledged witnessing UF fans behave poorly towards visiting fans. Perhaps you should go back and read those posts again.

To suggest that, as a UF fan, I can't pass judgment on another fan base's poor behavior...is perhaps the dumbest thing you've said in this thread.

Bad behavior is bad behavior regardless of the colors you're wearing.
