Did fans chant F U florida?

Dude . . . I'm talking about the goofball conspiracy about Driskel was rubbing it in our face by not taking a knee as fast as he could.

Ok. If your point is people are growing less football intelligent as our losses grow worse I would counter that our pettiness, judgements, and hostilities towards each other grows at a faster rate.

Lulz. Fawking A, brah!

you are the one that said you feared taking young kids to a UT game. That's about the dumbest thing I've ever seen you post. I mean, you live I Memphis, and you are afraid a kid may hear a cuss word from the student section?
Odd.

I have a son and I would never take him to any rivalry game. I also support the f u Florida chant. Florida is a punk as program that cheats all the time and has a dirty coach with dipicable fans. Its deserved IMO.

Having a kid doesn't automatically make you a great parent so that point is invalid! And your comments about Florida's coach and program are biased and lacking facts. Sounds like the words of a sore loser who doesn't have the decency to congratulate the winning team. BTW.. it's spelled despicable. May want to spend more time working on spelling proper English and less time on the expletives.

You are a college student. You should know the difference between conscious and conscience. Spend more time studying and less time yelling stupid crap that embarrasses the responsible adults that actually support the VOLS. My kids don't need to hear your filth. I'm sure Mama is proud. Flame away losers...

Get on down off your high horse man. I carry a 3.77 GPA and I'm in the Chancellor's Honors Program. I'm sorry my phone auto-corrected one word incorrectly. If you're embarrassed that easily, then just stay home. You have no right to act like I'm not supporting the Vols. I was in the stadium an hour early and left 15 minutes after the game. So go somewhere else with that garbage.

Just before the chanting started, some of Florida's players were taunting UT fans up in the stands. An official had to run up to one player and stop him from gesturing. As someone else said, Driskell was rubbing salt in the wound by dancing around in backfield instead of taking a knee. Anyone think Muschamp put Driskell back in to take the victory formation simply to rub UT's face in it following Driskell's comments earlier in week? Why else would he put Driskell back in?

.

This is funny... Driskel was put in to make sure that they had a QB that could take a snap under center since FL is now a shotgun team.
Also he wasn't dancing around???? He was trying to run the clock down before he took a knee so FL wouldn't have to punt the ball. It worked.

I am sure all the children at the game enjoyed it as well

Most kids will be exposed to that in their lives long before they ever attend a college football game. Most will hear at home, from friends, movies, internet, etc.

The way I see it, get over it and take your kids to the zoo or chuckie cheese if you don't want them to be exposed to any cursing.

I have a 14, 11, and 8 yr old boys. None of them with foul mouths or attitude problems. Yessir/Nossir kids. If I can't teach them how to enjoy the day, though they may hear things, that's my problem. We usually end up laughing at people together or telling stories about people on the way home. Or you show them that's how you don't act.
Very simple, but overdramatized here with the reactions and calling fans uneducated rednecks, when the uneducated ones were sitting on their asses at home.

I wonder how many people in this thread have ever been to UT games and sat in or close to the student section. When I was a student, I heard that chant every SEC game.

that is weird, why would they chant F U Florida, when we are playing SC, after second thought, that chant is good anytime.

Obviously some people are missing the point. Yes some people let the heat of the moment get their emotions to the point where they might say a curse word out of frustration. But the FU Florida chant was different. It was not said with the intent of keeping it to yourself. It was a chant that was done with the poor and selfish intention for everyone including tv viewers to hear it. Doing it in that manner is imposing your foul vocabulary onto everyone else and shows a complete lack of respect for your fellow fans.

I'm as guilty as arguing and lighting the fire as anyone else on here but can we just all agree to disagree and drop this? For god sake, we're cursing each other here over our own team. Maybe we all need to soul search if we're going to take to calling names within the fan base. We're all frustrated at the loss, some show it in different ways. If I was an opposing team fan reading this, it's pure gold. That's all I got. Go vols.

It was classless for sure, but as the father of an 11 year old boy in attendance, I'm quite sure it wasn't the first time he's heard those words. It started in the student section and could be heard throughout the stadium quite clearly. I know folks emotions get the better of them sometimes, but I couldn't help but wonder what parents of visiting recruits might think. Not one of our fanbase's finer moments for sure, but 10 straight years of losing to those punks can wear on ones nerves for sure.

Y'all talk like this is so bad but you do realize bammer chants "f*** auburn, and LSU, and tennessee too" during every single game, no matter who they're playing? I know we hold ourselves to a higher standard than that but c'mon. This is a friggin rivalry game.

I'm not an Alabama fan. That is one of the reasons that I detest that fan base. I choose to associate myself with the Tennessee Vols. I do not like our fans acting like Jerry Springer fans. It reflects on all of us as a whole.

It's a college football game and it's words. I am not minimizing your concerns, but it is, after all, only words. As George Carlin once said, it's ok to prick your finger, but heaven forbid if you finger your prick.

Tell you what. Next time you see a police officer or a judge, why don't you tell them to F*** off. See if they interpret it as just words.

Or, maybe someone could say F*** you to your momma or daddy. I'm sure you would be ok with that right? I mean after all...it's just words.

Let's not pretend like words don't have the power to offend people because they do.

Looked like the chant originated out of the student section. But if you're a FLA fan you gotta love it because it's the only response we have after losing 10 straight. Yeah, we showed them alright. We showed them we are every bit as classless as their HC. He's a douche and we took it to douche 2.0. Shameful.

As a 19 year old student at UT, I have no problem saying that I was proudly screaming it while I was 100% sober. Nobody can make me feel bad for it. People can say that's what's wrong with my generation or whatever. I like to think of myself as a relatively good person but chanting that at a game in which we were playing arguably our biggest rival in a game that could possibly make or break our season does not weigh on my conscious at all. I would absolutely do it again and I probably will when we welcome Alabama to town. Go Vols!

:ermm:

Embarrassing is the word for the way Worley played. I know our O-Line is young. That's why I cut him some slack the last two weeks but today was just as much on him as it is the terrible ass play calling and o-line. Today was just pathetic and F U Florida was exactly the way I was feeling and even though I didn't say it I don't blame them. Get over it! The way we played today was more embarrassing than anything the fans could have chanted.

Like the hurricanes gators this was a ugly game of freakin pitifulness except gators rose out of this pool of miry garbage to not stink enough to put together good drives to win.

This is a 20 star embarassment as 4 turnovers and still we dont dash the gators or bury them in the ground.
Of all ways to lose to the gators in 10 damn times this one stinks to to the top of freakin Mount Everest. I am damn embarrassed to have see such a abomination on the field with a damn game they should have won and offensive failure to finish.

Degenerate MTV kids embarrassing the entire volnation. The worst part is they don't even know they are eroding the southern culture of native Tennesseeans. To many Jew York reality shows telling them its appropriate to be a smart ass prick. Y'all act like it was a county sponsored dirt track race.

Some of this stuff I'm reading here is kind of strange. I'm a Florida fan. I understand disliking your rival, being upset with the outcome of the game, etc. I don't understand why everyone is upset by Muschamp remarking that he's happy to disappoint rival fans. I didn't really see it as classless, but I guess that's just me.

I've never been to at UT-UF home game where we mistreated UT fans, but that was just my experience. Usually we just keep to ourselves for the most part. I've only seen issues with FSU fans coming to Gainesville. Everybody has their own experiences, though.

It's also weird to see so many people talk crap about the entire Florida fanbase, as if we're one human being. People suck everywhere. I bet some UT fans are total trash, and I bet some UT fans are great people. The same can be said for Florida fans. Just because you dislike an athletic program doesn't mean you have to hate everything about them blindly. Again, kind of weird.

I hope some of you understand that there are some Florida fans that you would like more than some Vols fans, and you don't have to hate them just because they root for your rival team. People take it seriously though. I mean, there were LSU fans taunting Uga when they played Georgia last year. Some people just suck and have no idea what's going on outside of a game. That's all there is to it.

This was apparently not unwarranted as one or more of the Florida players were taunting and then actually threw ice water into the student section. Also from what I've read it was in fact started by the student section and not the whole stadium.
