I was watching the game and thought he threw in the towel. Maybe he was hurt and if he was, I apologize. However, something just didn't seem right.

Your thoughts...

Seems like he could have played if really wanted to

He had to have been seriously hurt. In a situation like that, I can't believe he wouldn't go if at all possible.

He wasn't too hurt to walk himself in and out of the tunnel, take snaps, get on and off the bench multiple times, walk up and down the sideline, get on a workout bike, use said workout bike, then get himself off of said workout bike. It's no wonder Bears fans are burning #6 jerseys. I didn't think it was possible to like Jay Cutler less, but I guess I was wrong.

They are talking about a torn MCL. It's possible to do all of those things with a torn MCL/ACL but the knee be too unstable to move laterally on the field.

He didn't quit, just because he didn't pull a Farve does not mean he wasn't hurt.

Rivers played in the AFC champ game with a torn ACL..the WHOLE game..the Chargers lost..but he gave it his all.
Cutler is a Vandy pansy.

Cutler quit, as usual. It's the NFC Championship for God's sakes...there is no tomorrow. If you are fine enough to walk around, ride the bike, walk around more, and as usual pout all day, get your silly *** in the game.

Everyone who is involved with the "League" is just thrashing him.

There is a lifetime of playing with your kids and getting in and out of a car without difficulty. It cracks me up that the same guys that are on volnation all day at their jobs whine about professional atheletes not giving it their all.

His center claims it's remarkable he was even able to come out to try in the second half, that his knee was shaking uncontrollably in the huddle before the half ended. It's amazing how powerful and strong all you armchair qbs are from the comfy confines of your own home. It's a lot easier to push buttons on a remote and eat potato chips than stand in the pocket and deliver a strike to a WR on a torn MCL/ACL. Lovie even said he wanted to go back out, but the doctors wouldn't let him.

It's ludicrous to even begin to think that a guy would voluntarily take himself out of a title game.

Cutler's been sacked 80+ times the last two seasons and he's only missed one game due to a concussion. He may be a Vandy QB, but I don't think his toughness can be called into question.

Some of the Bears fans claiming that he quit are probably some of the same classless morons who cheered all the way through the National Anthem.

I'm not about to try to pretend I know how much he was or wasn't hurt (I can't believe he wouldn't play if he could do anything at all), but it didn't seem to me like he cared that much from the first snap until he came out by just reading his body language. JMO, IMO.

What did Urlacher say? Didn't see it and too lazy to look it up.

His teammates are not. Check out the comments from Urlacher that justin mentioned. If the guy couldn't go, he couldn't go. The people in the best position to evaluate that seem to be supportive.

"Jay was hurt," Urlacher said.. "I don't question his toughness. He's one of the toughest guys on our — he's tough as hell. He's one of the toughest guys on our football team. He doesn't *****, he doesn't complain when he gets hit, he goes out there and plays his ass off every Sunday, practices every day.
"So, no, we don't question his toughness."

Also, from the same article: Bears coach Lovie Smith said there was no hesitation to pull Cutler after officials determined his knee was too sore to play. He appeared to grow agitated by repeated questions about Cutler's status.

"He hurt his knee, and he was out," Smith said. "There's nothing else for me to tell you on that."
