Did coach Pruitt or Barnes take salary cuts?

May have missed this. Saw where Swinney and Harbaugh had and Fulmer just wondering. My opinion they should . Agree or not?
If they are asked to they should. I saw where some coaches were asked to and refused (not at UT). I havent heard anything regarding this...

Why should they? They have fair, legal, and binding contracts. Unless that contract explicitly states reasons for a pay cut that apply, it should not even be considered. If they have their pay cut, their contracts should be void.

They did this voluntarily?

Edit: Looks like JH did but had just received a raise if the exact same size. Swinney didn't

Where does one draw this arbitrary line? Like I said earlier, I don’t believe COVID has decreased his workload or made his job any easier
Clearly that’s not the purpose of these pay cuts. My company cut pay across the board due to revenue loss. People still had to do their jobs

The paycut (at least in Harbaugh's case) is coming from his salary, not his total compensation:

Harbaugh, who enters the sixth year of a seven-year contract, one that was set to pay him more than $8 million in compensation this year, will experience a 10 percent cut on his $605,000 salary over the course of 11 months. (Much of Harbaugh’s pay comes from outside sources; plus, he received a contract-stipulated 10 percent raise in January).

If I had to guess, most of these paycuts are from the base salary.

I doubt any had contracts like those of a college coach, and demand for them was not the same.
My CEO took a pay cut. Our board gave up their pay. I’d say that was done voluntarily. She makes more than Harbaugh or Swinney. I think I read that a number of employees in the AD who obviously make a lot less than the coaches took pay cuts.

I dont think their market would be the same under the circumstances, and I dont know what a CEO contract entails. Also, they almost have to take a cut as a CEO if they are cutting others pay. That doesn't apply in a coach's case.

Most of us are not making millions per year...

True but the more you make the higher your standard of living is... so you still have to adjust things downward to make up for salary cuts like that. The easiest should be the fluff like going from a high end restaurant to something more affordable. Cutting back on guilty pleasures, etc. Then you have to either cut back retirement investments or debt payment and that to me is a harder choice.

The exception would be like the late Sam Walton, founder of Walmart. Even with $20 Billion fortune, he and his entourage still drove economy rental cars, flew coach and stayed at basic hotels. I don't think his sons and daughters are quite so frugal now.

Now with that said if you were already scrapping to get by, then this cuts straight to the bone and the debt hole just gets way deeper. Nancy and goon squad haven't done anything to provide relief. They just want to cause pain and throw the election at families expenses.

Luckily I was not affected but I expect pay raise next year to be zilch.
