Did Bailey intentionally screw over his "mates"?

He screwed himself by not playing better

Don’t get mad Harrison, just get better. Truth is most folks overvalue his talent vs. what he has shown in the field. I mean, what has he done?

Shined in the O & W game?
Against a shell of a team, Mark Levine says hello.

Beat Vandy?
Cause for a spot in the ring of honor.

Completed 6 straight 5 yard passes against Texas A & M?
Probably puts him on Mel Kypers big board.

Good luck to him, but it’s not really a loss.
Can’t understand why the all the hullabaloo about a 3rd string QB.

If you want to look into it more, go back and look at his film. It ain’t all that.

This is some serious mental gymnastics to come up with this one.

No chance. I’m sure he just put his name in when he did to get as many opportunities as possible.

This, which is exactly what any of us would do in his shoes.

I seriously think there are “some” fans here who would (it they could) have Heupel fired, and have Fulmer step in, if it meant that Bailey would be the starting QB…….no matter the results or his success or lack there of.

Not sure what has happened, but I think we have “some” fans who are merely Bailey fans not necessarily Vol fans.

I just found out this information from a friend who works at Marietta High School. Bailey’s maternal grandmother’s maiden name is...... Sankey. She is a cousin of SEC Commish Greg Sankey. The rumor at Marietta is that this has all been a long con to destroy Tennessee. They planted him here with the hopes of destroying Pruitt. They knew Bailey’s commitment would raise our hopes that Arik Gilbert would come here as well, and they knew he would never consider being in Chaney’s offense. After Pruitt destroyed himself and Heup came in promising Milton a starting role, Sankey told Bailey to be patient. Then, lo and behold an opportunity presented itself where the head of the SEC could totally screw UT. Their master plan? Wait til Tennessee’s off week and then have the third string qb (who can’t beat out a qb who thinks it’s a good idea to run out of bounds with no time left in an upset bid) enter the transfer portal! Bwahahahahahaha! Greg Sankey is popping the champagne tonight for the con that he pulled on Tennessee. I can’t believe we fell for it.
You win the "SEC Conspiracy Of The Year" award. No one else even close.

Intentionally or not, he screwed them over, and I don’t see him quitting mid season helps him any
Really? One guy? You're grasping at straws & wish the guy good luck in his future. He had the opportunity, just like all the other QBs, to earn the starting QB job. Hooker wasn't first either but as things happened when he got the chance he succeeded. Personally, I was hoping Bailey would red-shirt & I thought that might have been one reason he wasn't getting more playing time because I thought the max you could play in was 4 games in order to red-shirt--not sure about that.

By leaving when he did, he assured that UT could not use the new portal replacement rule to fill his spot. He obviously knows this.
By definition, if you're transferring they're no longer your teammates.

Just as you said you're a TN fan, not really a football fan, HB may be a similar person..... a fan of the team he's with, not the one he's leaving.

It's good for you so it's good for HB too, eh?

$hit, if the coach thought I was behind Milton I would enter the portal also.

Milton has been injured…….and doesn’t look very good when he’s out there. Hooker has been down twice now I think.

Tennessee still have 4 games remaining. There could easily be a scenario where Bailey would be the QB…….possibly for a drive or two…..maybe a quarter. “If” Hooker became injured……who knows what “would” happen.

If he got in there and proved himself…….

Might not happen…….but there’s always that “chance.”

Right now he’s simply waiting in the portal…….after having two different coaching staff’s think he wasn’t ready.

He gots to do what’s best for him. I certainly hope it works out. Also I’m no expert nor can I predict the future; however it seems…….just staying for a bit “might” be better (again that’s just my opinion).

I admire your opinions regardless of your indecisiveness. Good Show!

As others have said, because of early signing day, if he waits too long it could cost him a spot/scholarship at another school and he could end up with very limited choices.
I get what some of you are saying about quitting but at the same time you are asking him to take one on chin. I don't see how it hurts the team for him to leave now.

I have done a full 180 in my thinking about this. I fully expected HB to transfer this year. At first, I was thinking ok this guy quit on his teammates. Now, I see it as both the previous staff and this staff did not view him as our future at UT. He wants to get his name out there and he can take some visits and then transfer during Christmas break. Good for him. I hope he finds a good place for him and that he balls out.

Mmmm………where am I being indecisive?

It’s just 4 weeks to go…….will anything at all change? Probably not.

Is there any chance he might see the field? Well sure. It’s low no doubt, but given the fact Hooker has been down twice and he runs…….there’s the chance.

“If” he got the chance to “prove” himself…….it could only serve him down the road…….if he believes in himself.

Just because he might not make it here….in this system doesn’t mean he “couldn’t” somewhere else……..proving a bit of that this year…….all be it a small chance……would definitely help his portal chances in my opinion……..rather than simply being under 2 different staffs and neither thought you were ready.

Decisive response! Quick learners are a rare commodity.

Sure! Decisive response! Quick learners are a rare commodity!!

Simply stating one post is decisive isn’t necessarily bolstering an argument for a different post of indecisiveness.

We could go switcharoo all night; however that gets us nowhere.

My very first comment to you was asking how I was being indecisive……..when you stated I had been.

Now 3 posts in you simply refer back to a different post and ignore the original question.

Again, I am in favor of your point-of-view regardless of the fact I disagree with it. You are a persuasive, demanding extrovert of enormous potential. The question remains if, or not, you achieve that level of success.

Take me down a notch. Or three. I can learn from thee. You.

This hurts depth wise.

I assume Holliday is QB3 now and would be the first option if an injury happens to Hooker and Milton.

I don’t “try” to be a “Richard” (if I can use). I merely like the “argument”…….not to argue.

Im also rarely trying to “knock someone down a peg or two.”……….I simply try to differentiate opinion from fact.

I’m sure guilty myself at times; however I try not to. I hate to see one using opinion as “fact.” Some folks don’t know or understand the difference when they see it and some don’t know how to refute……..I find it best to leave opinions as opinions.

I also try my best to substantiate or prove an argument when I can; however I am not shy to admit wrong……..I have had to many times. Some folks can make the most baseless claims imaginable…………and refuse to admit their wrong, even when proven…….that’s when you know someone is truly a Richard (at least that day and time).

I can see there is no “claim” here, or if there was you simply don’t want to. I don’t get on here trying to be a jack or trying argue with anyone. I simply like the Vols and when I see something I don’t agree with I don’t mind calling it out. When I’m called out I certainly don’t mind “trying” to prove my argument.

Sry if my comments rubbed you the wrong way. I kept asking because I didn’t “think” I had been (however I didn’t know)………I cannot correct what I don’t know.
