Did Bailey intentionally screw over his "mates"?

If he was a starter or even #2 I would agree with you. The fact is 2 other Qb's would likely have to have serious injury for him to play. I am sure he has had conversations with friends and other team mates before he announced his decision. He wants to play and I doubt he will be the last from this team to transfer. Probably a couple more coming sooner or later. I think we had to have a few to sign a full class.

Bailey quit on his team period. If you leave with 4 games left you're a quitter

Who made up this rule? The other two qbs on our roster “quit” on their teams but it’s different because of when they did it? 🤣😁 All this crying over a 3rd string qb who “didn’t fit the system” and “wasn’t good enough” so he does what’s in his best interest and what people like you led him to believe. 🤡

They both left in the post season not mid-season.

The only way Bailey could screw us would be running his mouth to the NCAA. Unlike JG, news didn't drop today about NCAA violations.

It is very interesting hearing all the "experts" putting down Harrison Bailey. I did not write down the names at the time, but I would bet MANY of those making the negative statements about him are the same ones who were RAVING OVER JOE MILTON. TELLING US ALL HOW STUPID WE WERE TO NOT BE ON BOARD WITH THIS AMAZING QB.

And then, this guy with the "cannon" of an arm, and the absolute "can't miss" guy, shows us and the world that he cannot hit the broad side of a barn, and he is totally incapable of making football decisions.

To all those "experts", your comments about Harrison Bailey sound very hollow. Even to the point of sounding as if you really do not have a clue about which you speak.

I wish HB the very best, and I hope he finds a coach and team who can realize his talent, and I hope he shines.

Intentionally or not, he screwed them over, and I don’t see him quitting mid season helps him any

I don't see it that way. He has from now until when the spring semester starts (early to mid January) to pick a new school. Our last regular season game is on 11/27 if he waited until then he'd have 6 weeks tops to make that decision. Plus campus life is shut down in December and way different when everyone is prepping for finals. If he's going to take visits and meet with schools in person then now is the time.

To me it would be more distracting if he tried to be on the team while talking to other teams about playing for them.

All in or all out...

I just found out this information from a friend who works at Marietta High School. Bailey’s maternal grandmother’s maiden name is...... Sankey. She is a cousin of SEC Commish Greg Sankey. The rumor at Marietta is that this has all been a long con to destroy Tennessee. They planted him here with the hopes of destroying Pruitt. They knew Bailey’s commitment would raise our hopes that Arik Gilbert would come here as well, and they knew he would never consider being in Chaney’s offense. After Pruitt destroyed himself and Heup came in promising Milton a starting role, Sankey told Bailey to be patient. Then, lo and behold an opportunity presented itself where the head of the SEC could totally screw UT. Their master plan? Wait til Tennessee’s off week and then have the third string qb (who can’t beat out a qb who thinks it’s a good idea to run out of bounds with no time left in an upset bid) enter the transfer portal! Bwahahahahahaha! Greg Sankey is popping the champagne tonight for the con that he pulled on Tennessee. I can’t believe we fell for it.

“The games on the line with no time left so I think I’ll jog out of bounds and end the game without even trying to win”.
What’s that say about HB?
You’re talking about the guy he’s behind on the depth chart

I do feel like quitting 2/3rds of the way into the season is a LITTLE different than quitting/transferring afterwards. Kids at all levels of sports, peewee to college, decide all the time that “this is not for me” but, in principle, if you start something I think you should finish it.

I do agree that it’s a lot of fuss over someone Who’s QB3 and not a great fit for our current situation……..but much of Volnation was invested in HB to some degree or another

So far I have read three long threads about this and they are fairly identical. Most every post seems to think Bailey made this decision in a vacuum. Does any reasonable person not believe there were not conversations with coaches, including the head coach, and teammates prior to making something public.. Knowing (not personally) Baileys desire to come to TN and play here I find it hard to believe that if CH had asked him to stay with probable playing time in the future that he would be leaving. I thank the young man for his efforts and wish him a great future in football and life.
