Did Anyone Think Urban Meyer was as big a whiny baby as he has now shown?

Well... I'll say this. I'm not worried enough to register on a UF board tonight to see what they're talking about over there. Really, I could care less. How about you?

This is what astonishes me. If you're a UF fan, you've got your almost a whole handful of national championships in the last few years in football and basketball. You've got what will be regarded unanimously as the best football team in the country coming back this fall. And yet you're so twisted out of shape over a comment made by a losing team's idiot new coach that you're registering on their message board so that you can trash-talk? What's the point of winning championships if you're going to be so insecure about it?

But here they keep coming, in droves. With comments as predictable as their hair is magnificent.

He's either worried or stupid.

They're really not a traditional elite program, so they don't know how to act like one.

This just shows they know it, and they have just a bit of insecurity about their status atop college football and how long that might last.

:good!:

How did Pete Carroll and USC respond to Jim Harbaugh a few years ago when he took over at Stanford and took a shot at Carroll?

Oh, that's right; they didn't. Because that's what you do when you're on top. The protestations of Kshusha and 5150 notwithstanding, Tennessee got a fair amount of positive publicity out of all this (cf. PTI, Jim Rome), and you can thank Jeremy Foley for that.

Exactly. The Pete Carroll and USC example is how a real champion would have handled it.

Imagine how silly it would have been if CPC went to the Pac10 commissioner for help in dealing with a new rival coach. Poor baby Urban.

What is it in the water in Gainesville that makes obnoxious whinin tools, and further more whats in the water that makes the media push every decibel of it like it's gold?

From living in both cities, I can tell you that Gainesville has an energy and excitement that Knoxville just doesn't have. I think it's due to the fact that Gainesville is much more densely populated and has a younger population. Out of 120,000 people, about 70,000 are students. Neyland is by far a better stadium, but the crowds in the Swamp are much more lively. Most Gator fans that I've met here are the typical arrogant fan when they are winning and nowhere to be found when losing. From asking friends, it seems like UF's mentality came from so many years of watching Miami and FSU dominate. They finally got Spurrier who showed some moxy and they all wanted to emulate him. Remember that Spurrier is not above a little whining when not getting his way.

Meyer and Foley went whining and crying immediately to Mike Slive at the SEC office, instead of dealing with UT directly.

Meyer has not only shown he is a crybaby, but he is also a snake. He might not have officially broken any rules, but what he did by calling Richardson over and over again while he was taking his official visit to Knoxville was sneaky and just plain wrong. Some things you just don't do out of respect, regardless of whether it's a rule or not. I never had respect for the whiner anyways, but I definitely don't now.

Meyer is 4-0 against UT (the last two have been complete blow outs), he is 3-1 against UGA, and he is 4-0 against FSU. He has won two national championships in that same time frame.

Call him whatever you want.

agreed, but none of that changes that he's whiny and sketchy as it pertains to the rules.

I disagree. It is all ultra-competitive in the world of recruiting. I personally hope Kiffin does this same thing and I hope he bends every rule in the book without actually breaking any. I don't care who's feelings he hurts or what is ethically questionable about it. If no rule is actually broken, it is fair game.

None of that changes the fact that Meyer should not be worrying about what a rookie first year coach is saying to a bunch of boosters as a joke. Urban is a tool of the first order, and cares only about himself with little regard to the institution he works or the kids he recruits.

Ask Utah and Bowling Green for references.

He was shaking in his boots knowing that the kid was with the great recruiting staff at Tennessee! He is just pi$$ed that The Vols are now going to be a thorn in his side.:pepper:

Never knew Urban was such a pampered, junior high school girl, until this year. I always had respect for his sorry ass until recently

I'm pretty sure that Knoxville is more densely populated actually. The city itself is definitely bigger than Gainesville population wise. I'm not sure what the student to average citizen ratio is there, but I'm pretty sure Florida doesn't have 70,000 students there either. I'm thinking with post grad students its around 50,000. That aside, I've never been to Gainesville and I have no idea what the atmosphere is like there. I'm sure that the fans are livelier at this point, having won 2 NC's in the past 3 years. But the atmosphere is about to change in Knoxville, and once we get back on track I don't think you will find a group of livelier fans than the ones pouring in to Neyland Stadium every Saturday.

I for one did not.
The guy must whine more than my 3 year old boy. How in the world the first-year, youngest coach in the NCAA make him cry is fascinating.
I wonder if dude wears diapers.

I would rather have a whiny baby that wins national championships for a coach than a bragging a$$whipe that lives off his father's legacy . . . . How about you?
