Did anyone leave early and miss the stoerner stumble?

Nope, thought about it though
Glad I didn't Neyland went CRAZY when it happened, even though a lot of us were already gone those of us that stayed got plenty loud

I was in Little Rock, Arkansas watching the game. A living room filled with 20 people or so and I was the only one screaming. I did meet Stoerner at a concert in North Little Rock while doing physical securtity job as a part time gig. He is friends with some people i know and they introduced us. In fact, my friend John introduced me as a Tennessee Fan. The look on his face. I shook his hand and said "thank you". He replied, "for what". I said, "the fumble". He laughed then gave me a really weird look and then started laughing again. He was drunk at the time and had a couple blondes one each side of him. A couple days later, he came over to John's house while I was there working on John's computer. when i was done, we drank some beer and talked about the game. Asking me over and over again why I was a Tennessee fan when I was born and raised in Arkansas.
I get the same **** everyday lol. I was born and raised in arkansas but always been a Tennessee fan.

I wasn't lucky enough to be at the game but was watching it at home on the tv. When Arkansas got the ball back at the end, I remember getting up from my chair stunned and walking into the kitchen. My wife had already decided to hide out in there seeing how the game was going and expecting my usual rotten mood following a loss. She just looked at me standing in the doorway and I said, "I can't believe they just blew the whole season to freaking Arkan---..." That's when I heard an eruption from the living room behind me and turned around to see the Vols jumping around with the ball. What happened next was a series of "Holy s**ts" after each run down their throats.

I was there. How do you leave a game that close with so much on the line? Arkansas was also undefeated and if I remember correctly UT had its first #1 ranking in 40 years or something.

First post here. I was not at the game, but I remember listening to it on the radio in the car and going crazy when he fumbled. I met Stoerner in Panama City Beach the next year on my senior trip when we were talking to a couple of girls. He was actually a pretty good guy. He asked me where I was from and I said Tennessee and he said "Oh, you must love me." I laughed and said, "Yeah, I appreciate that." I was surprised at how good he took the whole thing. The guy was huge so I didn't say any more about it.

Was there to the end! I actually called the comeback(somewhat wrongly) but I said just before the botched punt we would get a safety and then kick a field goal and beat them 25-24 just like they beat us in 92. People looked at me with amazement when we got the safety.

Little Trivia, who's on the ticket for that Arky/TN game?

Stayed to the end. Side story that I'll never forget. Best friend and I take a bunch of NC/SC guys to a game each year for a weekend of football and golf. Its usually one of the non-conf games that the wives don't mind missing. They got lucky that year and it was the Arkansas game. One of the guys sitting with us said (before the fumble) ... "Well its over. Are we leaving?" Because of the 'Cuse and the Florida games, we had that "feeling" that some how, some way, we'd pull it out. We both glared at him at the same time and said ..."It ain't over. We're going to pull it out. And if you say anything else like that again, then you can get the ____ out." Boy is he glad he stayed.

Section M Row 60 seat 2 which is covered from the rain. My buddy and I was still there waiting for something to happen. It had been one of those games where you just knew somehow they are going to pull it out.

Me and a buddy were there. Smuggled in some brewskis. Bout 5 rows up on our 35 yd line. After we went out on 4th down, we started up the steps cussing. Heard the roar and turned just in time to see Darwin jump on the ball. We looked at each other and yelled simultaneously... "No F,,in WAY!!! Say down in one of the thousands of empty seats and watched Cheese Henry pound his way into history... Then hit the town full blast.

Sad note to that game. We heckled the Arkansas linemen on the sideline the whole game. Especially one named Brandon Burlsworth because he wore big black glasses and looked like Drew Carry. He got drafted by the Colts but got killed in a car crash before their next season started. Was on his way to buy an engagement ring. RIP BB.
