Did anyone leave early and miss the stoerner stumble?

I was actually at a wedding for one of my brother’s friends. After the ceremony, those of us who cared (including the preacher) made our way into the basement of the church to watch the last quarter or so.

I’m pretty sure that my being in a church at the time had a lot to do with the fumble. You’re welcome.

I left to get to my job (Club LeConte) since I was already late. I heard a roar from the stadium and ran full speed to the restaurant. When I got there they were replaying the final touchdown. My boss was so happy he said he didn't care that I would have been late, I should have stayed. But of course, if we'd lost, I'd have been in trouble.

Watched it on TV, I prefer Arkansas turnover followed up by The UT shoving the ball down Arkasas' throat and winning on a final drive.

I was in Little Rock, Arkansas watching the game. A living room filled with 20 people or so and I was the only one screaming. I did meet Stoerner at a concert in North Little Rock while doing physical securtity job as a part time gig. He is friends with some people i know and they introduced us. In fact, my friend John introduced me as a Tennessee Fan. The look on his face. I shook his hand and said "thank you". He replied, "for what". I said, "the fumble". He laughed then gave me a really weird look and then started laughing again. He was drunk at the time and had a couple blondes one each side of him. A couple days later, he came over to John's house while I was there working on John's computer. when i was done, we drank some beer and talked about the game. Asking me over and over again why I was a Tennessee fan when I was born and raised in Arkansas.

I was there until the end and boy was I glad that I stayed. I couldn't speak for 2 days from screaming so much.

Excellent story! Were you sober when you got there?

Both of our biggest rivalries spanked us in 2007
Florida - 59-20
Bama - 41-17

I don't see how any fan could be proud of the 2007 campaign knowing we got our butts handed to us by our biggest rivalries and say we were the champs of the east in 07

idiotic post of the day

I certainly don't think the '07 should have a special place just because they made it to Atlanta. Do you think UGA fans are holding the 2011 team in high regard? The SEC East last year was garbage and didn't have to play Bama, LSU, or Ark.. They won by default, basically.

2007 was the first year for Saban at Bama, his team had losses to:
GA 26-23 OT
Miss St. 17-12
Louisiana Monroe 21-14
LSU 41-34
Auburn 17-10
Florida St 21-14

But that was also the same team that beat us like a drum 41-17 and we were ranked #20 in the polls at the time of the loss.

Not a lot to hang your hat on when you look at things in a different perspective.

More than this past year can say. However, still at the end of the day, Tennessee played for it all, and Bama and Florida didn't. I dare you to go up to any of the players on that team and say what you've said on here. If you've ever played any sport, you would understand how it was special. How many other teams (in any sport, i.e. a wildcard team) squeaked into the post season, despite losing to their rivals? Several. Does it make it any less special for them? Of course not.

?

Did that bullet have my name on it?

It was the 98 season, so no available high speed internet over here in bf'kd europe. So I was listening to a streaming John Ward, my head down, my now-legendary National Title hat slung against the far wall...

I couldn't believe it when that goober fumbled. I believe I broke a few things in the office, can't really remember.

I think CMR is holding the 2011 team in high regard...They saved his job.

I was pretty hammered that game( was for most of them that year), but i swear i thought they were showing the replay on some form of monitor on the way back in the stadium. I did get to see Travis Henry run the ball down their throat and score.

Maybe the monitors under the lip of the lower deck?

Where did I mention any of the players names? I said fans! I played baseball when I was young and went to the little league world series. I played 3 years of football and I know from my experiences in team sports, yeah I would be happy to have made it but later on in life I would look back and not be as proud because of the beatings we took as a team by our biggest rivals.
