Did anyone leave early and miss the stoerner stumble?

This helps explain your affinity for Tyler Wilson.... wives are persuasive creatures. :) j/k

Ha - nice try, smo. Actually, we truly are a house divided. My wife and her side of the family are all hog - my brother in law was even the hog mascot. But they all know I bleed orange and I've successfully turned one of my daughters into a Vol fan. My other daughter doesn't care a flip about sports, and my son is 4, but I'm working overtime on him. :)

Have a good one, smo.

I was attending with a party of 6 that was spread out in 3 different sections across the stadium.

The only 2 that left was sitting 2 rows in front of the VOLS sign.

I stuck it out in the endzone.

Have season tickets, it's 280 miles from here in NC to K'ville. I was there for it, but seated soaking wet. We always stay to the end, win, loose, or in the olden days, draw.
Call us crazy, but we bleed orange.

I just ran across the second half of the 98 Arkansas Tennessee game and they were talking about the fans leaving after we missed the 4th down play. I was wondering if anyone on the board was there and left early and how they found out what happen?

Did you notice that very late high hit on Tee Martin on that 4th down on the replay -- and right in front of a freakin ref :eek:hmy:

Yes, I remember that day very clearly.

It forced me to use the last of my three wishes.

But, honestly, it was all worth it.

I was there. My wife got called in to the hospital (she was in residency). Gave her the keys and I stayed.

After the fumble, this really big guy had moved down to empty seats next to me (@ 30 yard line alumni side, right behind team) he picked me up threw me in the air like a lttle kid, caught and set me down again. I am 6'1" and 220 lbs. no clue who he was, he was wearing a Tennesse sweatshirt, so I did not care. Damn great moment. May have been John Henderson's big brother...

I was watching this game with my wife, who at the time was 2 years removed from being an Arkansas cheerleader. She was jumping up and down and screaming the whole game while I was doing a giant facepalm. Needless to say, after the fumble, we switched roles. :)

Excellent! Makes sense now as to why you follow Arkansas so closely.

Married an Aggie myself (and no not one of their yell leaders), so I follow them closely too. Luckily Tennessee has never lost to the Aggies in football, a long standing tradition I hope.

Never left. I like to stay for defeats makes me appreciate the wins more so I did see CHEESE RUN IT STRAIGHT DOWN THEIR THROATS. But i never thought we were gonna lose that game:td:

I was watching on tv. I remember saying out loud, if they do not turn the ball over on THIS PLAY, they will just kneel the rest of the plays. Sure enough they actually ran a play, which surprised me. ( thought they might not need to run a play)

I honestly did not leave THAT game, but i DID leave the 6OT Ark game in the 4th Q thinking we had it in the bag. I don't wxactly remember the year... 2002, 2004 maybe. I left, went home, tuned into what I expected to be Sportscenter only to see our game STILL ON AND IN THE 3RD OT! I was pretty pissed about that one!

I wasn't there, but my wife left soaked to the bone. She heard the fumble on the radio, and made it home in time to watch the end on TV.

Except there wasn't a jumbotron then. It was installed following the 1999 Spring Game.

I was pretty hammered that game( was for most of them that year), but i swear i thought they were showing the replay on some form of monitor on the way back in the stadium. I did get to see Travis Henry run the ball down their throat and score.

Typical fair weather Tennessee fans....I was actually squeezing the water out of my new bucket hat which I had just bought at the shirt stand at that moment.

Had gotten up and moved three seats down...stood right where we were and watched the rest.

I think that was the last time I saw a break in a game go our way.. we have been paying for it ever since.
