Me, I40VOL, and potsguy were walking from the Dome to the CNN center about 2 hours before kickoff saturday and looked up to see Casey Clausen walking towards us. When we went by him, I patted him on the shoulder and I40VOL said there's Casey Clausen. Clausen smirked as he went by and never even slowed down to acknowledge us. I noticed that he has gained a considerable amount of weight(especially in his face). Does anyone know what he is doing these days?

Have a totally different story in regards to him ignoring you.

My sister had some friends that were in the suite next to Casey. So they get to talking and they tell him about my niece(sister's daughter) and how she is such a big fan. She was 5 when he was playing and thought he was the greatest thing. Anyway she is 10 now and was at the game. So Casey listens to all this and tells the woman to call my sister on her cell and invites my niece down to the suite and took a picture with her and just spends a few minutes talking with her. I thought that was very generous of him.

Was a big Casey fan before this anyway.

Casey sat in front of me for the pre-game and beginning of UT-UF game in 06. He left for the sky box during the first quarter, but was very pleasant and personable.

It's funny how many differant stories can get passed around about public figures...

I've heard stories about him being a good guy but I've also heard stories about him being a complete dumba** as well as a prick...

Who knows...I've never had any dealings with him and don't expect to so I could care less either way

Yeah. He may have been a fat tool last Saturday. Just sharing an experience.

Heard he was doing some Hair Club commercials and he may replace Jarrod (SubWay).

I think it also depends on who is telling the story and where the meeting took place. I can only imagine how many times he heard his name walking around outside the Ga Dome on Saturday.

One thing I've never understood about him is why so many people around here (myself included) really don't have anything good to say about him...

In all fairness...he is #2 in basically every meaningful QB stat column...including (if I'm not mistaking) yards, TD's, and most importantly wins...

But when he finished alot of us were like..."good ridance"

When no one has anything good to say about you, especially when you had as much success at UT as Casey did, it generally means you are a total flesh pickle and a douche bag.

or that the people talking about him have never spent more than a couple minutes evaluating his character.

I always liked Casey. He was a serviceable college QB that was tough as nails. His road record will always bring back fond memories.

As a Qb I liked the guy.....he was clutch and his willingness to stand in the pocket was amazing. I would of taken him over any on a must have play. That 4th and 13 against Bama (i think) stands out to me.

You are right and that 2001 FL game, was big as well. I am not sure where all the hate comes from, I never had any dealings with him but a lot of friends of mine that went to UT said he was a total prick, they may have been envious though.

i don't think casey was that popular around here since he didn't win anything. if he has won the sec championship in '01 and gone on to play in the national title, i gurantee you people would hve a different opinion on him. unfortunately, i see the same thing happening with ainge.

I remember in my Freshman year I was at that club that is now "Bar Knoxville" (can't remember much) and Clausen strolled in after beating Bama. He started the club singing "go home alabama" (to the tune of sweet home) and started quite a few fights with remaining bama fans. That was my only contact with him, but some of the girls that I was friends with said that he was a total sleeze.
