I think it's funny when drivers act like they are drinking something just to throw their sponsors in the picture. I remember seeing Kasey Khane fake a drink of a Budwiser last year. Or you see them hold their Coke or Pepsi at the bottom of the bottle where you can see tha label. I've even seen where their publicist will reach their hand into the picture and turn the bottle where the label is showing.

It is all part of the deal, the selling of rights. The being called the "this or that" of Nascar costs a pretty penny, and what you get is the right to expose your product. All the promotions that involve drivers, crew chiefs, car owners are done only after paying for the right to Nascar.

I totaly understand why they do it. I think Mikey is the best at it. It's just funny that my wife doesn't know a whole lot about NASCAR and will point out fake drinks or how they hold a product. I think thats how she gets through watching the prerace or interviews with me. It's her misson or something.

The ironic thing is that the cars these drivers are in are the most unrecognizable products of the whole race day experience. Does the Chevy "Impala" they drive resemble anything you see at the dealership?

I always thought it kind of weird that no matter where a driver is or what he is doing, he has on his driving firesuit.

Yeah I always cracked up at the old Gillette Young Guns commercials when they woke up in pajamas with their car numbers on them and then changed into to their firesuits.
