Did anyone ask Hoke if Curry said he would be a permanent candidate?

If Hoke were going to be the "guy" he would have been introduced as the "New head coach" of the university of Tennessee, not the interim coach.

Yes, and if I remember correctly he said he isn't necessarily worried about it as much as making sure the Seniors finish strong and have a great final two games.

I realize he was introduced as the interim brilliant one. However ask Orgeron how he was introduced. Don't want to even consider Hoke as a candidate.

I believe that it was part of the plan to have an interim step in with 2 games left, because now there is no chance of pulling an LSU and hiring an interim as HC.

If he had been left with say 5 games left and won out then there would be this uproar of having too hire the interim. With only 2 games this gives Currie and the administration the right to not hire him as HC even if he wins the last two games.

UT will try to land a big coach. But if they fail, rather than get another wannabe, it's totally possible that they'll hire Hoke to save face. It just means he was 8th on the list.

Could be part of the reason we waited this long to fire Butch. Didn't want to give Hoke a shot to pull an Orgeron.

I agree. After watching the conference, either Hoke doesn't want it, or knows he is so far out of the running he isn't getting it. He seemed to dodge the question more our of respect for Currie and the hiring process than anything else. He certainly didn't seem like an interim trying to claim an HC job.

If it gets that far I'd say I'd be happier with the FCS National Championship Coach who's name I'd have to Google before Hoke.

Probably not gonna be Hoke.

However, just look at Muschamp and you can see he has learned something from his previous HC stop and improved his stock since becoming the HC at South Carolina 2 years ago.

The only thing Muschamp has learned is that the SEC East is steaming pile of crap this year and he has benefited from it along with UGA. The only teams they have played this year with a pulse have been losses.
