Did anybody ever notice this?

you could make an argument for Brady, but Ray Lewis? He isn't even the best player on that team, much less the league!

I somewhat agree. But Ray is kind of like the P Manning of defenses. He's been as high and as low as it goes, and he has a very very very good understanding of not only his position, but his whole side of the ball.

Agreed. He isn't the best player on his team or the best LB in the league. He definitely was at one time. As far as all-time great players that are still playing... he's way up there. But as for current ability he's no longer the best in the business.

We are not talking about his understanding of the game, we are talking about the best player on the offensive and defensive side of the ball.

At one time Ray Lewis would have been among the top of the league, as it stands now he is nowhere near the top. I wouldn't put him in the top 20 to 30 today.

that is why i said that he's the P Manning of the league on defense.
tom brady is the easy pick for best offensive player in the league.

if sean taylor was still alive he's my easy pick for best on defensive side of the ball.
otherwise i have to say Polemalu or Reed

I'm not saying Brady is a bad pick, but I don't think it's a head and shoulders above obvious choice. Sean Taylor was good, but he wasn't the best in the league.

I don't see that it is that easy of a pick, Manning, and a few other would give him a run for the money IMO. I think Brady is at the top of his class, no doubt. I do believe he is and was the beneficiary of a great system, not to say he doesn't have great skills. Many will argue that he is the greatest because of the championships he has won. Those that argue this point are missing the fact that the Patriots defense is what won those games. Brady is a very important cog in the wheel. Last year they went 11-5 with a qb who never played in college.

that's why i said if he was still alive. as in he would have developed into something great. but yeah i agree it's hard to rate him above polemalu or reed. this past year especially was the reed and troy show.

but i think that brady is the best in the league. the plays he makes and his ability to place the ball perfectly is uncanny. i agree, the coaching of the team and their "camera-work" has set him up for success, but his ability as a qb is insane.

Big Al will be a bust in DC. 15 limp off the fields want even be close. Unless he lays down half way through the season with a season ending injury. Otherwise he will limp off at least 25 to 30 times.

When it comes to limpin of the field nobody does it better or more often than Big Al. If limping off the field was a stat he would defiantly lead the league.
