While I find him pretty irritating, he talks about Pearl and Tennessee quite often during other games.

SportsAnimal reported that about 2 weeks ago, I think. It was just after the Kentucky game that Vitale announced (was that against Florida in Kentucky...I think it was). I guess they haven't changed anything up since then.

True, but it also must mean Duke isn't playing that night. (Quick check....they're not).

Don't know if anyone can confirm or refute this, but I heard that Vitale was one of the many people in the college basketball world who "blackballed" Pearl after his incident at Iowa with Illinois.

Don't know how valid that is, but I wonder if what Vitale says about Pearl isn't all supportive.

Vitale was certainly among those who were in the school of thought that Pearl broke the coaching code by informing on Illinois.

I hope he doesn't kiss Florida's a$$ the entire game.. Hopefully, he'll show some love for some of our freshmen and C-Lo if we can pull one out.. Either way, it's great exposure for our program.. Were finally showing that were relevant in men's basketball with Bruce Pearl.:rock:

I have heard that as well. But, I have also heard that he has said around ESPN that he likes the energy that Pearl brings to the sport. I think that it may be a situation of...you did the wrong thing as a coach, but that doesn't mean I will hate you forever kind of thing.
