DG's Takeaways from the South Carolina Game

Agree, but Chaney probably didn't know JG would try to go for the home run each time instead of just getting the first down, despite the over-throws.
If Chaney didn't know, he and JG will know the range of the passes called in the future. I think JG throws the deep ball and the side line 50-50 ball better than most QBs. He problems are swing passes and passes over the middle, including the slant. However, the dump down to #3in the late 4th quarter looked pretty good to me.

If you had told me before the game that JG would throw for 259, 1 td, no ints, i woulda said Hell Yeah.

That dime to Palmer was may be the best throw Ive ever seen him make. All palmer had to do was run underneath it.

He was 4 terrible throws, all too high, from hanging 3hundo and at least 2 tds.

So for that I say can we I get a Hell Yeah for JG?

If he were an "up an coming" sophomore, then yeah. But this is appears to be year four of watching the exact same mistakes on the same throws and decisions. So, not so much from me...

If this team ever hopes to beat the elite of the SEC then JG simply cannot miss throws to open receivers. It just cant happen (unless the offensive line fails, which doesnt appear like it will happen this year). Its one thing if the receiver has butter fingers and drops an easy pass, but you cant miss the open throws. That's not the sign of a winner. You could see a basketball player hit a 30 ft jump shot and think it was amazing, but if that same player missed 5 wide open layups in the same game you'd think he wasnt a very good player.

It was nice to win but I wasn't impressed with it at all. It was one of those games that is not even worth watching again.
When we punted on our last possession I thought, "How many times have I seen this movie"? Thank GOD the ball hit the Lamecock player. Otherwise we may have been staring at a Big L.

As much as I'll take the "W", that game was VERY close to being a different story. Take away the bad mistake on the punt and take away Henry T's pick 6 and its a completely different game.
