Any takers on how they think young will do this year in football? I think he finally breaks one and it turns into a breakout year.

I hope he improves and builds upon the year he had on special teams for us. We could definitely use him in some special packages as well. I am just excited about all of the weapons we are going to have on offense. I hope that we can establish some sort of running game so that our air attack will have the opportunity to be that much better. A good run game opens up the pass game. The good thing about Devrin is that he can help in both areas. I'm excited, GBO!!

When DY gets the ball there is electricity in the air because he is so explosive and unpredictable. After a year of S&C, a season of track, and with a better ST coach/schemes - I expect him to do great things, including at least one KO return and one punt return for touchdowns.

Anyone know what his average yards per touch was when he got in on offense?

Whoa whoa whoa! I thought Pig, McNeil, Bowles, Borque, Watson, and McCullers were going to blow it up in the return game this year.........Devrin? Really??

DY will be the KR and PR at the beginning of the season. It is his job to lose. I assume that the other KR will be CP and the defense will just have to pick their poison. Don't expect a freshman to come in and unseat DY. The kid is super fast and shifty. He was very underrated coming in last year. I would put his Sr tape up against any other person on the team for PR and KR. Before you argue please go watch his film.

A year in an SEC training program will do wonders for him. And I also imagine the decision to run track will help with his running technique. Should allow him to eliminate any wasted motion.

i think our return game is goona big huge in flipping the field and winning the field position battle, the real question is will our kickers figure out how to punt the ball more than 30 yards and will someone become a reliable placekicker.

I don't think anyone was saying he was bad. I think he is a very valuable weapon.

Pig CP and DY all can be very good at KR and PR. They all have the potential to the best we have had since Dale Carter. I would love to see DY be the best of the group being from Knoxville and all. A friend of mine coaches at Farragut (spelling??) and he said when DY was in HS he was the quickest player he had ever seen.

Also remember that Young broke his collarbone and missed most all of fall camp, so I think what he did was pretty exceptional when you take that in consideration.A full year in the conditioning program and track this spring should help a ton.
