Devise a scheme (somebody has to)

^ Agreed. Also, I would like to see 11 men on the line of scrimmage. Pop every receiver as they come off the line every play. And bring the heat. Put a hat on the ball carrier every play and put him down hard. Bring the PAIN.
11 men on the line is great for a game of Simon Says, but for a bad defense with a weak secondary . . . not so much.

It's an absurd idea.

It's simple, wrap up and swarm to the ball. You are going to want to hear "Mayo (really any defensive player) and then a host of Volunteers...." when the tackle is made.

The thing about Arkansas is is that Monk is hurt. He will not be anywhere near 100%. McFadden has busted up ribs. Casey Dick is hurt.

This is the single most one-dimensional offense UT will play. Look at the day McFadden had against Bama. They still lost. Playing against him is like playing against Barry Sanders, he's going to get his yards but if you limit the big plays, if it takes him 25 carries to get to 100 yards instead of 10 carries, you've got them beat.

i would just given anything if they would tackle.

and not have DB's and Safeties as our leading tacklers.

Hefney is driving me crazy. When I watch the games on replay I am practically stuck on watching him tackle air.

I say we bring 13 and see how many times they catch us. Should even out in the end

I agree. It's maddening watching him step up to support the run and lowering his shoulder and head to try and roll block the ball carrier.

It is sad that a senior is a poorer tackler than a freshman. Berry has been juked a few times as well and eaten grass. But he has made some great one on one tackles. When he tackles someone he does it correctly, wraps up below the waist and brings them down.

they made mention of this on the U the other night, specifically about Hefney "trying to do too much" with a bunch of youngsters around him.......

It is what it is. He's been babysitting the rest of the secondary all year long.

His tackling has been atrocious however

I know, I know....what's the defense called where you dont stop blitzing you dont stop trying when you have a 3 TD lead..and you dont arm tackle???

Its called the Tennessee defense of old.

Now, Monk is apparently gonna play unless SCAR's brutal D injures him further.

Berry is one of our better tacklers but I say he is the only one who can cover Monk. So switch Berry back from safety to CB and let him try to shutdown that beast.

GO VOLS
