I believe it's going to be treated as a preferred walk-on situation, and he get a scholarship if he performs. It only makes sense because we have the scholarships to give now.

He went to Kingsport's Dobyns-Bennett H.S. he and Malik Foreman have been great friends since childhood. When CBJ was hired Malik and Devaun went on a visit to UT where they were both offered schollys, however Malik will be counted on the official roster this year as a scholarship player, and I have been told that Devaun was asked to grayshirt, just here say though. Devaun was actually a decent H.S. runningback they ran alot of option plays this year though due to DB's starting QB went down pretty early, and that is when Malik stepped in so 80-85% of plays were designed running plays and all the opponents pretty much knew the same thing.

you will be surprised what devaun can bring to the table i would definitely not call him sec material when u have watched him play since middle school and high the 2 boys can definitely play ball he might not be big enough to play sec running back but he has the cuts on a dime to make up for the size...his vision is unbelievable but he will be called on for a cb which he is just as good there too so sit back and all we can hope he will be good cause he is a vol so why not cheer him and not put him down

Thank you for breaking up that sentence with the ellipses; I almost ran out of breath and passed out.

Couldn't agree more. Why down a young man before he has had a chance to even suit up. If he is a VOL then cheer all of them on.

Most people base too much on the "Star" thing. Most people have not even seen him play and say he is no good. I have seen him and Foreman and both carried their team to a undefeated regular season and are worthy of scholarships.

yall are dum. he is a sec type player. he benches and squats over 300+ and he runs a 4.5. who wouldnt want that at running back and he taking a grey shirt like tino so he could do nothing but get better.

This kid was a workhorse 2 years ago in the backfield when Malik was not the QB. When the QB was hurt then Swafford fell into a different role because Malik brought the run option because he was not as good as the other QB at throwing. He can play period. He has game speed and a good head on his shoulders. No need to bash a kid when you have no idea about him or seen him play. These two are VFL. Nuff said!

I've watched this kid play and he's a gamer just like Malik. They both r shifty and with a good offensive line he should produce good numbers once in the open field.

east tennessee football 5a ? players can get it done. only question is sometimes academically athletes from here can struggle in college as theyre def limped along as star athletes. SHHS and DB are two of the more respected academic schools, but when i was at SHHS it was a joke how student athletes slid by

at any rate good luck to the kids. dont matter where youre from if u can play u can play. i get sick of the no talent in e tennessee angle. its tired. malik and devaun may be honors kids again i dont know them or situation.

i just lived in kport/jc my whole life and aint much changed
