Detrick Mostella seems like he will be fun to cover RT @Teek3015: My tide roll again ☺️

I have no opinion on this whatsoever, but it's time for your hot takes

He's spent 95% of his life in Alabama, what's the big deal.

But more importantly, who cares.

Me. You either give your all for Tennessee and realize what it means to be an athlete at Tennessee, or you don't. We are Tennessee. They are Alabama. There's no in between.

My opinion of anything related to the basketball program at this point would be negative so I'll just keep to myself.

Do we seriously expect, much less think that every student athlete on campus is a UT Football fan ( besides the football players themselves)? If this had been a tweet from one of the football players, we could be angry. This tweet by Mostello is not worth mentioning IMO

In a normal season, this is maybe a bigger deal, though I'm really not concerned about it. If Bama's basketball team played last night, and they were his reference point, it would bother me.

After the past week in Tennessee basketball though, this isn't even a blip on the radar.

This! There's bigger things to be concerned about when it comes to the program.

Give me a break man. If people are really concerned about a kid cheering for a team he probably grew up watching then they're the problem not him.

My stepson is 17 and likes Georgia in football, likes Ole Miss in basketball, and cheers for Tennessee outside of those games. There's no explanation, because orange is worn throughout the family. Who knows with these young kids.

goodness freaking gracious.

Ask yourself if he's going to pull for Bama in hoops vs Bama this year or try to play his ass off.

And fyi, there are track athletes, baseball players, swimmers, rugby, etc that are from all over the place and pull for the schools they grew up pulling for. Another VN needs to grow up moment, brought to you by Krispy Kreme. And I don't mean the "baddest" rapper around. I mean glazed donuts.

So your stepson doesn't play for Tennessee. Your stepson isn't on scholarship at Tennessee. Mostella is very very lucky to have a full ride at Tennessee and should be smart enough to respect it instead of referring to a hated rival as "my". Our entire bk program is a dumpster fire. Thanks Dave Hart for all your due diligence and just finding the cheapest hire you could.

I hope this is sarcasm. If not, talk about an emotional overreaction about a football game.

But you had to post anyway so everyone would know how you feel. You do not have to root for them. They will survive without you.

At the end of the day it's just sports. It's not the end of the world when people cheer for other teams.

Not talking about on the court performance, just the situation the program has found its self in due to lack of leadership at the top Dave Hart and Jimmy Cheek

I grew up pulling for UNC in men's basketball and Vols in everything else...Bruce Pearl helped bring me completely in the fold. Why would this kid give up his child fandom?...why should he? As long as he gives everything he has for his chosen school and doesn't badmouth the other programs, this is a lot of squawking over nothing.
