I'm definitely down to work on running it whenever. I know we missed that one chest, also. I'm trying to rank my guy up but it's brutal at this level.

Any thoughts on "The Last Word" from Xur today?

I was hoping to buy armor, but of course he's selling chest armor and I already have the raid chest armor so I assume there's no point in purchasing the exotic.

Xur has the damn Armamentarium AGAIN. I'm getting real sick of his ****!

But between that and the raid boots, I can now hold 8 rockets! Woot!

The Armamentarium is badass. But you're right that it won't help you with light level right now. You should try to get an exotic for a slot that you don't have raid armor if leveling is your primary goal.

I'll be on in a few hours if you want to run some strikes or bounties.

I don't see myself using a hand cannon over my SUROS auto rifle, but I'm going to buy the Last Word. It's really good if it fits your play style. If you're a Brett Favre gunslinger type and you fire from the hip, it looks like fun. I'm gonna at least try it out.

Also, I'm gonna get a helmet engram and hope it's for the titan. I need an exotic helmet now that I have raid gear for the other 3 slots. That would allow me to get to 30.

Armamentarium is a great piece. The stats on it each week have varied pretty good. I know I bought it twice because the stats the 2nd week were so much better.

Last Word seems to be a good PvP weapon. Looks like it's just another hand canon if you mainly do PvE.

I should be around this afternoon. I'm sure I'll see you folks online.

I didn't know exotics varied? Can you give me the stats on your two? I'm just curious if I lucked out with a good one or a mediocre one.

I've got Invective if I want to troll PvP. It has so much recoil it may not be as good as advertised, but a full-auto shotgun...

I'll check when I get on in a couple hours.

I saw some math on reddit comparing week 1 and week 2. The week 2 piece was ~4.4 seconds faster at cooling down the grenade. That's not a ton, but I had plenty of coins and figured I'd go for it.

But yeah, end of the day, the stats on raid and exotics do vary. I have 2 raid chest pieces. 2nd one I got is quicker at grenades and super. So, I've started leveling it up now.

But as far as the upgrade trees, they are identical, right? Like you won't find one that carries more primary ammo instead of special ammo?

Looks like they can have different perks.

1st raid chest I got has: More ammo for special, pulse (Dis 67, Strength 62)

2nd raid chest I got has: more ammo for special, Auto Rifles (Int 69, Disc 67)

My armamentarium has discipline of 148.

Ugh, I want your 2nd one. Mine is like your first. I don't know the attributes, but I never use pulse rifles.

I meant exotics, though. I know legendaries can have varied upgrades.

I think you may be right on exotics. Unfortunately I've broken down all repeat exotics I've had already. I don't recall those being different perk-wise.

I'm a Warlock so the Armamentarium won't help me. I bought an exotic helmet engram but it was for hunter. I may try again.

I generally like pistols, so I'm probably going to end up buying this one even though I'm not sure how great it is.

Let me know what time you're getting on. I may be around for a bit this afternoon and will definitely be on tonight.

I don't usually have good luck on this game but I got a package from my most recent cryptarch level and it contained three legendary engrams---the trifecta. :lol: . I got a sniper, some gauntlets for another class, and some ascendant material.

I'll probably be on around 12:30 or 1 for a few hours. I'm not doing the raid hard mode this week. I changed my mind. So I'll be running bounties and other stuff, daily heroic, etc.

I thought you could get all drops and chests once on normal and once on hard. I found out that in fact you can only get the actual completion drops (after beating a stage) on both. The chests are a one time deal.

So I have a question. Maybe someone can answer it. Are the hard mode only drops (like Vex Mythoclast) only attainable from the stage drops, or if you run hard mode could you get them from the chests? If it's the latter, then I will probably try hard mode first next week just so I can try to get something from one of the first couple chests.

Every once in a while you'll get one of those. It's weird, but you never get like one blue and one purple. You always get either complete garbage or a super awesome delivery like that. IME, anyways.

I'm not sure if the Vex Mythoclast/etc. are only stage drops. I think they prob are, but not sure.

If you do hard mode first during the week, I'm told you'll get twice the drops at each stage. So, you'll get the awards for hard and normal all during your hard run.

Are you sure? I read it as you're twice as likely to get a raid drop, but you still only get single drops and then have to run it again on normal.


For anyone that likes hand cannons, The Last Word is bad ass. Especially if you fire from the hip a lot. I can't wait to level it up.

It's not going to replace the suros regime on the raid or anything, but it is a fun ass weapon.

I read you can only get the raid helm from Atheon, so I'm really going for an exotic helm from Xur soon. I've been waiting. It's always the damn chest piece. My boots are fully maxed now so I just need a helm to get level 30

vex mytho is only dropped at something like a 6% chance after beating atheon on hard mode.. the last word seems like a beast with its auto fire mode when you have a mob of enemies near you, at 260 no less, anxious to level it up but im workin on plan c and pocket infinity, and atheons epilogue, need to level up P&T.. Thunderlord too.. so much to level! If you see me on, join my fireteam or invite me to yours.. we Tennesseans need to be raiding together StoVol70 PS4 w/mic 29 lock 28 titan 26 Hunter

Thanks. I happened to catch that last night. I just need 190 more fusion rifle kills in the Nightfall now. :lol:

I got the machine gun exotic bounty last night and it was relatively easy. Not sure if the gun is really any good though.

I pulled the trigger on The Last Word. I managed to get an exotic helmet with my Modes of Light and I should have enough strange coins for a weapon next week should Xur have something attractive, so I figured I could afford it.

Solid run last night. The guy with the Vex Myth really destroyed people.

Whole raid took an hour and fifteen minutes. I was the big winner getting raid boots, pre revenge, and the hezen rocket launcher.

im pissed about that.. i need legendaries not more exotics.. covet that sniper.. got my titan to 29 today.. need to run it now so if anybody wants to hit me up.. great job last night doc
