Regardless of how much you may think that UT and the SEC is superior to Cal and the Pac-10, true football fans agree this guy Jackson is fun to watch. Check out the highlight reel:

DeSean Jackson

USC used triple-teaming (corner, linebacker, safety) to stop DeSean last year. Assuming Longshore isn't flat on his ass all day long, what strategy do you think Chavis will use to stop "America's most electrifying player..."?

1st punt return...Sacramento St.

2nd punt return...Arizona St.

3rd punt return...Oregon

4th punt return...UCLA

I did notice one thing...the people trying to cover him looked slower than Christmas...I think I could have run with those players..

Where are the highlights from the UT or USC games...Oh that's right...he doesn't have any

I'm not saying he isn't a threat...I'm just tired of people making him out to be something special...we face at least one Desean Jackson almost every week in the SEC

500th post baby!!!:dance2::rock::salute:

i hope your secondary coach thinks that too.

I can name at least 5 players off the top of my head without even looking it up that are just as dangerous as Jackson...one of them plays for Vandy for crying out loud.

How many AA recievers does the Pac-10 have playing for one of its bottom dwellers?

we will bump and run Jacskon all day and if he gets past Berry, Gaines, or Johnson then he will be demolished by either Hefney, Parrish or Mckenzie, and if runs across the middle then Mayo or McCoy will knock his head off, or maybe Chris Donald will be in at the end spot and drop back into coverage and catch Desean coming across the field

People asked us the same question in '98 about Peter Warrick........

Asked David Leverton (a punter) how to stop the most electrifying player in the country.

Wasn't hard first time around. I see no change
With our first team D we kept him to 40 yards. :spank:

Just shut up already about Jackson. He had all of 4 catches last year for a total of 84 yards. 40 of those came on a TD against our backups. I don't even think he had a catch in the first half. So save a 40 yard TD, he had 3 catches for 44 yards. Wow.

O, and his returning #s weren't great either. 3 punt returns for a total of 16 yards and 10 was on 1 return. He has to show it on the field before I will praise him.

oregon state has the best kicker in the country too. One player doesn't mean anything about sec dominance. I'd be willing to bet the bottom of the pac-10 has produced 10X the number of offensive all americans as the bottom of the SEC.

His first catch was a 6 yard reception on a 3rd and 7 in the 3rd quarter against the starters.

His second catch was the 40 yard TD on a 3rd and 10 in the 4th quarter against the backups.

His third catch was a 22 yard reception on 1st and 10 in the 4th quarter against the backups.

His last catch was the next play. It was a 19 yard reception on 1st down in the 4th quarter against the backups.

I'm pretty sure I was limiting my comment to this year..Lord knows Vandy hasn't had alot of AA recievers come through..although they did have a pretty good QB light us up in 05

Regardless, I'm not interested in debating whether Kentucky, Vandy, Ole Miss or Miss St. have produced more AA's than Stanford, Arizona or whoever else you have out there.

The only point I'm interested in making is that almost every team we play this year will have someone that is as quick and fast and sees the field as well as Jackson...

The only diffence between Jackson and those other players is that we don't get to read as much about them in the pre-season

All in all, MeSean had 1 catch for 6 yards against our starters.

i blame that more on longshore than jackson. i saw with my own eyes that jackson was wide open on multiple plays in the first half. we shall see though. i'd expect him to be double or triple teamed like he was against SC. the greats still get their catches though.
