Derrick Dooley is the man

Don't see the point in wanting Hamilton fired if you're so confident he made a good hire.

From my understanding it was the Haslams who told Hamilton to hire Dooley. Hamilton's hire Kiffin tried to change every tradition that UT had. :hi:

I believe that if the Haslams had that big of a hand in the hiring, they would have went with a TN "good ol boy"

It's going to be rough this year and next....maybe 2012 won't be so bad

The jury is still out on Dooley...I'll give him 3 years before I decide

He needs to show us something in terms of a signature win. If he hasn't had one by next year I fear his time may be limited.

We need at least 4 wins this year too.

Dooley is a name that is full of tradition. Vince always showed respect to other coaches and teams. It is a SEC name. Kiffinis a joke and so is Hamilton. I believe they would have hired a UT good ole boy if there were one available that the fan base would except. I look forward to the day that Hamilton is fired( he has made UT a joke) and Fulmer is hired as AD.:peace2:

I'll support dooley into next season....i think the negavols are way too early in their criticisms....did not expect anything this year.....we should see improvements in fundamentals and a system start to take shape by next year....if that's not happening then i will feel dooley can't do the job...high star recruiting will take more time....

Dooley makes me excited about the future. To that I say give me some examples of why you feel that way? I have seen nothing but confusion, lack of execution, and bad schemes from this staff. What leads you to believe we have a winner on our hands. Being NS's waterboy doesn't cut it, don't tell me show me.

Nobody is going to win with this team, we lack experience and or talent just about everywhere. What leads you to believe we have a loser on our hands? Anything you can possibly cite can easily be attributed to young and inexperienced players under a new coach and system.

You're thoughts are just as idiotic as the kool-aid sippers by the way.

Is our patience supposed to extend to coaches learning on the job as well? I love the Vols, and I'm all about supporting Dooley and Co. considering the job they have in front of them, but it sure stinks to high heaven when such blatant coaching errors are made. Can we please field 11 players on every play?!?! Can we please stop rushing 3 on long downs and distance? Can we please see some decent time management?

Sorry if you consider it trolling. It's a little bit of venting and a little bit of realism.

You aren't anything until you win. Not saying he won't, but win, then we'll talk. I don't get these stupid "ra ra" pep rally threads people start almost daily?

I think Dooley has 4 years. He wins or they fire him. Cause in 4 years he has the roaster built back up and the Tennessee job look a lot more interesting. That the reason most coaches turn this job down.

:eek:lol: Like I don't get the people who chime in just to say they don't get it? What's the point in trying to feel miserable all season when you can't do anything to change it? All you can change is how you feel about it.

Dooley, Dooley he's our man. If he can't do it, then they'll have to get somebody else. I don't want another coach for a couple years at least, though. Tennessee shouldn't become one of those revolving door programs. Tennessee is above that.

Keeping an underperforming coach far past his expiration date is exactly what got us in this mess in the first place. Dooley shouldn't get a lifetime pass just because he took over a program in disarray.

Who said lifetime? I'm saying he needs time to fix this.

I keep seeing posts accusing Dooley and his staff of bad coaching for causing bad play by the team. Last week was amazing in it's badness, and the staff has to take it's share of the blame. However, there have been bright spots due to good coaching. Penalties have been far less than I anticipated from such a young team, turnovers too. When the guys do as they have been coached (like at LSU) they can play with anyone in the SEC (well, maybe not 'Bama, but we'll see). The goal is of course to make the good habits automatic and eliminating the dumb stuff (staff too). We obviously have a long way to go, but I am encouraged by these things, I hope some of y'all can take some heart as we watch the progress to come.
