THANKS!!! Anyone who has ever played the game can understand where he is coming from and gets it. He's not making excuses--just being honest about where we are!

And, most of the folks on VN who keep screaming for him to be fired have had NO CLUE about the magnitude of DECAY UT football was in when he took over....They even call that statement an excuse...He deserves to get at least one recruiting class of his through the program...and was smart enough to negotiate a contract to allow that to happen!

I mean--Spurrier is in his 8th season at USCe and how many SEC championships has he won? The point being--CDD is no Spurrier, and is in his 3rd year--GIVE THE GUY A BREAK! There ain't no Spurriers left out there--and Charlie Strong SURE AIN'T IT!

Not saying he is a great coach. Really think it is still too early to tell how good he will be. He took a decimated roster, recruited fairly well , and has had a really tough job rebuilding a team to be competitive in the SEC. In all fairness though we have seen improvement. The first year we were competitive until just before halftime. Last year we made it a little farther into the third quarter. This year we have had opportunities in the final 10 minutes to actually win games we were not supposed to win. There is some progress, but progress is slow in the SEC when you start where Dooley started. Are there better coaches out there? Yes, would I mind seeing Gruden as our next coach?NO, but i'm still not convinced he wants the job. But maybe in all fairness, we need to see how the rest of this season goes. Three years in the SEC may not be a long enough time to get from where we were to where we want to be. How bad would it be to see him learn from his mistakes here and go somewhere else and win championships after we get rid of him??

im not happy either. we all got caught up in the sal sunseri moment when he was hired,but if anyone on here says we have not scored enough points each game
to win then what in the heck were you watching. we need defense and we need defense now!!!we are right at the top of most offensive stats thru the league,if we just had a defense to play with some grit we wouldnt be
talking about this.isnt the offense avg'ng about 400-500 yds a game?its close. now we need a defense to slow down the other teams from doing the same thing to us.sal may get thru to them but i dont think so especially in one year.i dont think he's the guy.thats where we lack,defense.cdd would be God to you all on here if we had defense.that hire could be his demise.ps:by the way Gruden aint coming.get over that,something will change but it won't be Gruden which would be a great hire:thumbsup:
