Surprised this hasn't turned into a "Good SEC coaches don't have time to work on their golf game" argument.

Im surprised too. Hell it's the off season, coaches need R&R too. Keep doing your thing coach Dooley pay the silly pettiness no mind.

inb4 "He should spend more time coaching and less time playing golf."

Dang Right!!! HooRay for beating the other coaches, but I'm more worried about Saturdays this fall... Go Dooley! Go VOLS!! Let's prepare and play some VOLUNTEER FOOTBALL! I used to golf, before I got marrried, before I got laid off from my job, before my unemployment got cut short even though I've worked 18 years straight!!!! I'm lucky to just get by and pay the bills this year, not to mention the tornado that missed my house by 200 yards n got several neighbors houses and damaged my families houses... This year has to be great for the VOLS! That seems to be the only bright spot in things to come for me and mine. Go VOLS and I can't wait till football season. I hope the coach and players read this. Our prayers go out to all those that were less fortunate than me and mine in this round of storms. God bless them, our soldiers, our country, and the TENNESSEE VOLUNTEERS!

Sarcasm detector malfunctioning?
Posted via VolNation Mobile

Not so sure it's sarcasm. That poster has been a critic of Dooleys, which is fine with merit. Saban was there and their city and state got hammered by the storms. Anyone dare question why Saban is playing golf instead of helping with storm relief?:whistling:

Anyone else impressed/surprised how low those scores are?
Posted via VolNation Mobile

Low scores aren't that difficult in a scramble. These guys are usually pretty good on their own, so to have two scratch golfers gives you a great chance for low scores.

I played in a 4 man scramble at Ravenwood on Monday. We shot a -10 but the winning team was at -15. Of course that's 4 man not two.

And congrats to Georgia Tech and coach Paul Johnson on the victory. And at least now Miami has a football coach who can win at something! (longest drive).

Is UT's golf team any good? I can't think of any alums on tour. Can't say I follow much college golf though.

As impressed as I was disappointed with John Smoltz terrible attempt to qualify on the pro tour.
Posted via VolNation Mobile

Agreed. I heard him on the radio talking about how he wanted to feel the competition of playing in a pro tournament setting. I know Smoltz is a great golfer, I didnt' expect him to win but I thought he would should closer to par on the nationwide tourney.

Maybe he usually plays the first tee courses and that's why he thinks he would be so good :dance2:
