Time will tell. Three years and 36 or more games almost equals the games Reggie played in 4 years.

Get over it. DB is No Reggie White. He used the analogy in his letter. Today he is a legend in his own mind (only) except for a few misguided Vol fans.

He must have a degree in Business, because Derek really knows how to market himself!

Of course you can always pass him over for a drug positive like Peppers and Rueben Foster who also has behavioral issues. ... but can you really pass over Derek Barnett?

DB will take his place as one of the greatest Vols ever, a great Vol ambassador for Tennessee, and a solid NFL player for years to come! He has the work ethic and the all important chip on his shoulder! Can't wait to see him play in the league! While MG toils in anonymity for the Browns DB will get drafted by a solid team, be on a good team, and will produce from day one!

Great letter well written with balance and emotion. You can see he went to classes.

Every once and a while I'll here someone say FB players don't work for their academic accomplishments. It really pos me. I don't know any that get a degree without working for it. Well many at NC.

I think DBs college career is every but as good as Reggies. We will not know about the NFL til his career is over. I believe DB has the nessary character to be successful. I hope the are side by side in the hall of fame.

My first fall at UT late on Sat night I was passing through the darkened brezeway at Greive hall. The largest black man I ever saw stuck his hand out to me and asked if I new Jesus. At that moment, I was glad I did know Jesus. That was Reggie reaching out. What a man.

Reggie White comparison is more than a college total sack number comparison.

Reggie was unblockable one on one. Great motor and drive. Teams had to account for him on every play. And a great man off the field.

Derek is good but I don't see his unblockable side yet. Certainly not in college. Some games he just was not a factor. Derek has kept a pretty clean record off the field but even that does not compare to Reggie White.

Sorry. I may be seeing differently in 5 years but right now DB is but a shell of a Reggie White. Other than one number, it is a terribly one sided comparison.
first one to have 10 or more sacks in 3 years in history at UTk..soooo...
