Depth is a big problem, but it blows my mind seeing teams every week make proper adjustments and come out looking like a different team in the second half, yet UT never seems to make any adjustments.

Coaches can make the most brilliant adjustments in the world, but when you have pure incompetence at QB it's all for not.

Moron fans. There is no adjustment. Dooley said you will have to throw to beat us and they did. We got beat by a team with 10 or more future pro starters. They have run all over everyone. Dooley made them go to their weakness, the pass, but it still beat us. I promise you that
if Dooley was coaching Bama, and Saban was coaching our team, Dooley wins. Period.

There is no adjustments. You cant adjust the DB just getting straight up burned. You cant adjust your QB to not suck throwing the ball.

Seriously? Did you even see what happened when he threw the ball? Obviously you didn't.
I know that, that is why i prefaced my post with "i know simms is our qb" i'm just saying, it allowed bama to gang up when they knew we were not gonna throw it. Terrible play calling in the 2nd half, should have tried a screen or something if they were scared to let stone feet throw the ball.

Bama came out and threw 3-4 passes that were good throws and great catches by their receivers. Those are difficult to defend. The inability to convert on 4th and inches with Simms not converting pretty much was the nail in the coffin. Can't blame Dooley for the call on that 4th down but can blame poor execution by a senior QB. Bama then goes for the quick strike and their QB throws it perfectly and their receiver comes up with a good catch. prentiss had solid coverage but it was just a perfect throw. Can't blame Wilcox for that. At that point it is game over.

Well we don't have the depth to keep up, I mean bama has had 4 years of top 5 recruiting classes, they were just going to grind us out and it was inevitable. Everyone says we should have made adjustments, but nobody has any idea what adjustments should have been made

I was just about to start a post just like this. The 2nd half thing is all about coaching. You cant come out flat every week against good teams. Coaching is all about making adjust throughout the game. Bama did jut that and I have just one question where is Justin Coleman at??? he didnt get BEAT like Teague is. Its terrible coaching and the play calling i designed for Sims to Fail. He threw the ball to only 1 WR all game. It comes down to Wilcox needing some Damn help from Chaney to keep the Defense fresh some kind of way. Take some shots with Sims to the other WRS at least once this season man. I blame the majority on coaching this is sad!

While the depth is a problem, the adjustments are also a glaring issue. It's one thing to get worse as the game wears down when you're tired. It's another thing to completely shut the other guys down at the end of the half, and then after a 30 minute break, be completely lost on the field.

I know there is threads already about this but feel mine is different. merge if you feel different.

Any ways, We had more TOP in the first half than bama and our players were rested i felt, and the game was ours for the taking. But it seems like we just dont care at all in the second half......? Wtf you play for the VOLS. step up and grow nuts and play till you cant play anymore. No way we were that tired going into the second half defensive wise. These guys need to realize the game is not 30 minutes, it 60! we had a chance and let it go. I figured we would lose but not so bad after we were 6-6 going into the half. I just figured we would see it in the 4th quarter. This is sad, Coach give me a scholly and ill give my all for Tennessee for 60 minutes!!!

On a side note, If Simms is the second best QB we have than we are in trouble the rest of the year. including kentucky and mtsu. Heres to Worley stepping up :toast:

I saw him stare at his receiver until hw got open. The kid does not know how to drop it off or go to a second option he's locked Into one guy
