I have been looking at our depth chart today. I have to say, I'm feeling pretty good about the next couple of season's. We have some Major talent on this team. With this class coming in, "if", we sign some key areas we will be loaded. I think we could even go 3 deep with 4 star guys at a few positions.
I think we have a good coach with good assistant's around him. Dooley is no idiot and the man can recruit. If we can keep Wilcox and Sirmon for 1 more year we will be in good shape. They will leave eventually, I just hope it's not this year.

Well I agree with most of this and I think you are right. However we have not seen enough good out of Dooley in game to say that he is a good coach. He can recruit though, and I to am starting to feel pretty good about the way the depth chart looks.

This is very true. I hope that our depth was so bad that he can turn the corner and show us he is a good teacher. got my phalanges crossed:peace2:

Dooley and the rest will be much better coaches when they don't have to:
-Spend time during a game showing newbies where and how to line up and basic fundamentals.
-Play only a small part of the play book.
-Play boys against men and play kids not SEC ready.
-Plug in players to non-familiar positions just to survive.
-Make too many high risk calls like fake punts, on-side kicks, 4&1 just to have a chance.
-Play 3 top 10 and 5 top 20 teams with a roster equivalent to Vandy and KY.

Coaches will make better decisions and game preparation when they have more viable options. It is a loser when you take a knife to a gun fight. You need at least a gun to have a chance. If you have guns, grenades, the element of surprise the A bomb, even better.:)

I wish everyone who posts on VN would understand the current problems Dooley and staff face. Good post Road Warrior.

I had an old football coach tell me years ago: " The greatest jockey in the world can`t win The Kentucky Derby on a mule."

Same thing in football more times than not men whip boys.
