Depth chart predictions

LE - Martin, G. Williams, Fowlkes
NT - D. Williams, Walls, Sykes
DT - W. Brown, Hughes, V. Thomas
RE - Walker, Bohannon, Donald
SLB - Lathers, King, Thompson
MLB - N. Reveiz, Askew
WLB - McCoy, Frazier

swarm, here are the only places I disagree with you.
LE- Martin, Bohannon, Williams
NT- Williams, Hughes, Thomas
DT- Brown, Walls, Sykes
RE- Walker, Donald, Fowlkes
SLB- Frazier, Thompson,
MLB- Lathers, King, Reveiz
WLB- McCoy, Askew

Hughes will be the #2 NT. He is built for that position. I think by the end of the year with Orgeron on the DL and with his speed, Donald could be a solid #2 pass rusher. The LBs are where I really disagree. Thompson is starting now, but I think Frazier will overtake him. Some of your LB positions seem to be messed up a little. Askew is an OLB and King and Lathers are both MLB...

Thanks for the input everyone. Here's my updated prediction with some explanations below.

QB - Crompton, Stephens
RB - Hardesty, B. Brown, Poole, Oku
FB - Cooper, A. Johnson
WR - Hancock, Warren, Moore
WR - Jones, Richardson, Teague, Z. Rogers
TE - Stocker, Cottam, Bartholomew
LT - Scott, Schofield, D. Thomas
LG - Richard, Cory Sullins, Revis
C - McNeil, Cody Sullins
RG - McClendon, Pope, Hood
RT - Shaw, Douglas

LE - Martin, Bohannon, G. Williams
NT - D. Williams, Walls, C. Nelson
DT - W. Brown, Hughes, Sykes, V. Thomas
RE - Walker, Fowlkes, Donald
SLB - Thompson, Askew, King
MLB - N. Reveiz, Lathers
WLB - McCoy, Frazier
CB - Evans, Rogan, M. Johnson
CB - Vinson, A. Anderson, Fleming
SS - Berry, Myles, Wilks
FS - Waggner, Jackson, Raines

KR - Teague, Rogan, Z. Rogers
PR - Richardson, Jones
P - Cunningham, Harrington
K - Lincoln

*Backfield: Crompton gets the start but never definitively distances himself from Stephens, so I wouldn't be surprised to see Stephens midway through the season if Crompton struggles. Lamaison and Rozier are nonfactors, barring injuries. BB, Poole, and Oku are essentially interchangeable, as are Cooper and Johnson.

*DL: Obviously this is assuming Walls is cleared to play. CLK said he was going to hold Brown out as much as possible so he will be able to start when the season comes.

*LBs: Frazier is staying at WLB per CLK's interview today, perhaps because there are some injury worries with McCoy. He also sounded comfortable with Reveiz and Thompson as the two other starters and said King has been moved to SLB, so SLB and MLB will be the most interesting battles during the summer/fall practices IMO.

*Secondary: I see Rogan switching back from FS to CB because of depth concern there. Rogan, Anderson, Myles, and Jackson come in as impact players in nickel and dime packages. Waggner locks down starting FS and sees most of the playing time there when he's healthy.

This is all based off of the original post...

I don't know if you can call the FB position just yet. They may want to run 2 RB's half the time, plus the battle is quite even at that position if everything I've read and heard holds any water.

At WR, as Moore becomes healthier I think you'll be seeing more of him, and he'll be splitting time between Warren and Hancock.

Bartholomew might be running H-Back duties, if he sees the field at all this year.

RT makes me uneasy. Ugh.

Wasn't Lathers competing for MLB?

I see Vinson and Rogan on the corners, as long as Vinson remains healthy and out of trouble.

I like Waggner back there opposite of Berry because he's got some time under his belt, but I see Kiffin changing it up and throwing the freshman in there.

Also, you might see Nuke on KR and PR duties, backed up by either Teague or Rogan. I think Rogan will start the year though.

Few things (based on the original post):
1. WR Moore is injured and not available.
2. You left out the other Sullins brother who I think is 2nd team at Guard.
3. Thompson is the starter at one LB spot and Lathers may beat out Reviez for MLB.
4. Hughes will like be the starter at DT by default due to Wes Brown's knees.
5. I believe Fleming and Evans are playing opposite sides and not the same side. Rogan and/or Vinson may not even start at CB.
6. I would say Poole is ahead of both Freshman at RB right now.

On DT it will be one bigger DT and one smaller quicker one. So my guess is it'll be
DT: Brown / Walls
NT: Williams / Hughs

Looks pretty good, here's who I would go with:

QB - Stephens
RB - B. Brown
FB - Cooper
WR - G. Jones
WR - Richardson
TE - Cottam
LT - Scott
LG - Richard
C - McNeil
RG - McClendon
RT - Douglas

LE - Martin
NT - D. Williams
DT - W. Brown
RE - Walker
SLB - Askew| Donald
MLB - Walls |N. Reveiz
WLB - McCoy
CB - Evans | Rogan
CB - Vinson
SS - Berry
FS - Jackson

Chris Donald is at defensive end now. Marlon Walls is in Memphis and at 290 pounds, not likely to be a MLB if he gets to Knoxville

Orange Swarm, not bad but 3 questions: 1) I would think Richardson (slot) and Warren probably would not play the same wr position? 2) I would question putting Walls in the 2-deep at this time if he's not even there, and 3) Lathers has been playing in the middle, hasn't he? (and I don't see L.Thompson relegated to 3rd team LB).

I've been keeping up with the various practice reports and here's what I garner the depth chart might look like heading into the WKU game. To me, OL and LB are the two glaring spots where the depth is poor. But overall I feel the best I ever have about this team headed into the season. Feel free to point out any possible errors or post your own depth chart.

QB - Crompton, Stephens
RB - Hardesty, B. Brown, Poole, Oku
FB - Cooper, A. Johnson
WR1 - Jones, Teague
WR2 - Hancock, Moore, Z. Rogers
WR3 - Warren, Richardson
TE - Stocker, Cottam, Bartholomew
LT - Scott, Schofield, Brimfield
LG - Richard, Revis, Hood
C - McNeil, Cody Sullins
RG - McClendon, Pope
RT - Shaw, Douglas

LE - Martin, G. Williams, Fowlkes
NT - D. Williams, Walls, Sykes
DT - W. Brown, Hughes, V. Thomas
RE - Walker, Bohannon, Donald
SLB - Lathers, King, Thompson
MLB - N. Reveiz, Askew
WLB - McCoy, Frazier
CB1 - Evans, Rogan, Fleming
CB2 - Vinson, M. Johnson, A. Anderson
SS - Berry, Myles, Wilks
FS - Waggner, Jackson

KR - Teague, Rogan, Z. Rogers
PR - Richardson, Jones
P - Cunningham, Harrington
K - Lincoln

As far as I know Marlon walls has not made it to camp and likely will not.
