UTM starting TE, Ben Everett from Loudon High School. Brother of former UT pitcher Aaron Everett. Athletic family, even if they are from my rival high school.

Haven't heard much about Tyler Wolf at DB. Thought Naz Oliver, CJ Flemming, Rod Wilks, Stephaun Raines, or Ted Meline would be there instead.

This depth chart has the classes, which has some interesting things to note for our expected level of improvement in 2011.

*We have five senior starters on offense. This includes our top three pass-catchers, so if the new TEs and WRs step up, we could really be poised for a leap forward on offense in 2011. We'll return the QB, RB, and 4/5 O-linemen. The opposite of this year.

*Remaining with the offense, we only have five seniors ON THE ENTIRE TWO DEEP. The 2nd string includes 1 junior and 12 Fr/So (out of interest, the 1st team has 2 Fr. and 1 So. as well). These guys are going to have a lot of time to grow together

*On defense, we have 4 senior starters. One of them is only a starter because of injury. In 2011, we will return the entire secondary. This year. . . looks a bit green.

*On defense, we have 5 sophomore starters (if you count Teague). Wow.

*On defense, we have 7 seniors in the two-deep, but the 2nd unit also includes 7 Fr./So (along with the 6 listed as starters or co-starters).

*Overall, we have 9 seniors starting and 12 in the two-deep.

*Overall, we have 9 Fr./So. starting and 28 in the two-deep.

Which is to say what we already knew: we have a young team. If this group learns to play together, they'll be scary next year or the following. But this year will see some growing pains.

Went to high school with Wolf. He was a helluva athlete. I am glad to see man from my home town putting on for his city.

Out this season with significant knee injury. But good question about those other guys.

Yeah, that's right. Forgot about the Knee Injury. Thanks. Since Naz is listed as a freshman, I guess he red shirted last year, correct?

I think UTM will put up more of a fight than most believe. especially since in 2008 they took the fight to Auburn and were tied around halftime. In the end I think we win out by 2 td's though.

I'm not half as scared of this 2-deep as I was of the projected 2-deep back in the spring...in fact I would say I'm cautiously optimistic about it...

It all comes down to what happens with our OL/DL...if some young guys can step up to help with depth, both units gel and play well together and we can avoid a huge amount of injuries then I could see us having a better than expected season...if none of those things happen then it could be a very long season
