The latest odds are the Broncos by 28, which is the largest point spread prior to a game. Any bets as to how many TD's Peyton will have against the Jags? Will they take him out midway the 4th quarter if the Broncos are up more than 4 TD's? The Jags are the worst offensive team in the NFL. They recently scored their highest point total of the season with 20. The Broncos have been giving up lots of yardage lately, but I don't expect the Jags to get over 250.
Would you take the Jags and the points or Peyton?
I say he gets 4 TD's! Would like to see 5-6!
My prediction: Broncos 41-10.

He could realistically throw at least 4 in 3 of the next 4. He's facing the Chargers and Redskins who have awful pass defenses, and the Jags who are just awful. Colts are 6th in pass defense though.

Manning's numbers would actually benefit from closer games though. I'd be shocked if there'd be a reason for him to even be on the field much (if any) after the half in this game.

I just made this observation in another thread. There is little doubt that Peyton will carve up Jacksonville's defense like a Thanksgiving turkey. The Broncos are favored by 28 and the Jaguars have scored only 51 points all season. Let's say, for the sake of argument, that Peyton throws for 200-250 yards and 2-3 touchdowns in the first half, and the Broncos lead 35-0 or 42-0. Does Peyton even play in the second half? In that scenario, Peyton could become a victim of his own success.

I'd be surprised if he plays more than a series or 2 into the 3rd quarter.

Unless the Broncos come out flat and play awful, this game could get real ugly fast. I agree with the rest of you that Peyton may not play that much in the 2nd half.

I wouldn't be surprised if he only had 1 or 2 TDs against them. I could see him coming out before the end of the 3rd quarter and if Moreno finishes a couple runs while D/ST score, then Manning has less opportunity.

Jaguars have 5 TD this season and the Broncos have at least 5 TD in four of their last five games played.

I think Peyton will almost always start the 3rd quarter and play at least one series, even if the score is lopsided at halftime. I just don't think he likes to sit. He'll throw the backup a bone and let him play the 4th quarter, maybe. In the better part of 3 quarters, if the score is that lopsided, it's a good bet he will have gotten his numbers.

This. Peyton hates to sit. He doesn't even like the back up to come in during kneel down situations.

Two pieces of free wisdom:

1. Always double-down on 11. Always.

2. Never take an NFL team to cover 20 or more points. Never.

So far, so good. The Jaguars are keeping it close enough (14-6, with just under 6:00 left in the first half) that there is no chance, thus far, of Peyton being pulled prematurely. He should have an excellent chance of orchestrating another touchdown drive before halftime, hopefully to be capped by his 3rd TD pass.
