All around very good article, minus the 5 Programs Ascending and Descending. Way off.

With the exception of Miami, he's exactly right on the descending programs.

Agree with you on Miami, and I think Colorado will surprise this season. Hawkins is a good, hard-nosed coach who will make his team tough.

Obviously, you disagree with that, but we'll find out in 4-7 months.

Colorado is a program dead in the water. Dan Hawkins has now ascended to a job beyond his capabilities. The community and the administration don't care about football. The only thing saving them from total annihilation is the pathetic state of the Big XII North.

Maybe that's what's clouding my judgement on this. I can see Colorado winning the B12 North in 2-3 seasons, which in reality, is similiar to winning the CUSA West.

Uh, no. Callahan has Nebraska healthy again. Colorado will be hiring a new coach in 3 years.

The B12 North is Missouri's to win in 2007. Beyond 2007, Nebraska should be fine as Callahan stays. I'm not ready to write Hawkins off after 1 season, because

THIS IS BIG TWEEEEEEEELVE FOOTBALL

I'm not that confident in Callahan. He may win a few North titles, but I don't see him ever beating out Stoops or Brown in the championship.

Missouri is still what they've always been. I have the same amount of faith in them winning a division title as I do in Britney Spears remaining sober.

Tennessee: There's nothing like the Volunteer Navy at sunrise on game day. Everyone is so hung over, you can hear the catfish jumping in the Tennessee River. The crazies then prove medical experts wrong by showing it is possible for humans to yell for three consecutive hours.

Too bad all 107,000 that go to the game aren't "crazies".
