Dennis Dodd picks the Vols

ya know it was before the UCLA game, but I sent in a question to an ESPN chat with Chris Low and this is how it went:

Tate (Las Vegas, NV): Is Tennessee more likely to upset Florida or Georgia?

Chris Low: (7:35 PM ET ) I think the Vols upset Florida and then lose at Georgia.

again... just want to point out that this was BEFORE the UCLA game... but I still look back at it and think...

I thought this was going to be a blow out, till Brandon Spikes opened his mouth, so now i think 30-20 Florida instead of 41-13 i had originally thought

I predict a boring game of penalties, fumbles and lost opportunities on both sides of the ball. Too much hype, not enough talent on either side. Florida wins 17-10 in a game that causes both teams fans to scratch their collective heads.

I predict UT will find a way to make the Gators look like they are the #1 team in the country (even though they are far from it). We will also manage to remind folks why Tebow won the Heisman last year. I see ugly all over this game.

Dodd picking UT is unbelievable. Probably second to Holtz picking UT over USC or picking ND to lose.

I believe Dodd is right. If we pound the ball and throw an occasional wrinkle to keep them honest...we win. UF cannot score if we have the ball. We know AF and company can pound the ball and hard. Let's not have a 2nd half faux paux and suddenly think passing can get it done!!! Pass just enough to soften the run. Game...Out!!! GVG!!!

I thought one of our games is always been an afternoon game.....obviously, I was wrong about the gator game. Is it Alabama?

I don't think we have a game that "always" an afternoon; that being said, Alabama usually isn't at night. 2003 (away), 2002, (home) 1995 (away) and maybe 1993 (away) are the only examples I can think of off the top of my head, at least in recent memory.

We may have a chance in this one, but with our history with them it's a slim one.
We do have a history of getting up off the mat. Examples would be the 01 fla. game, 04 UGA, and last year. Hopefully we can run it down their throat like Henry did in 00, and Stephens in 01. The keys to winning. Play Jones at QB more than two or three plays. Do not throw the ball more than 40 times like we did against UCLA. Get some points from the D or special teams. Get Warren involved more. Get Foster involved more; throw it to hime more than one time. Crompton has proved if he has time he can throw the deep ball, therefore try to hit a few big ones. Note he barely missed two in the opener; Rogers trapped one, and Brisco was barely out of bounds on the other 0ne. Another key is get some pressure on Tebow, hopefully Williams can help, but it may take him a while to get used to a new position. Not to mention for three quarters fla. looked human against an average Miami team last week. Go Vols.

I think its going to be a very close game but toward the last 5min of the 4th we lose it and break under the pressure. This is just a feeling GO VOLS!

I honestly can't believe that CBS chose this game over the LSU vs Auburn game. #4 vs unranked over #6 vs #10. I know UT-UF is a big rivalry, but in recent years, Auburn LSU has been every bit as much a rivalry as UT-UF. Maybe I am still upset that this game is not being played under the lights...

They still got lights at Neyland?

the team has plenty of motivation wether it be from last years game or all the quotes this week. The big orange is going to run it down the gators throats. I like Dodds pick nobody else is picking the vols.

GO BIG ORANGE !!!!!
