I heard that Morely got his grades up and was granted permission to rejoin the team in the spring. This is great news!

How could that already have happened? Wouldn't he have to wait until the end of the fall semester to see if he received some credits?

This seems oddly premature, did he go to summer school or something? Just unsure how you can get your grades up when they aren't posted for at least another two months as far as the fall semester is concerned.

He could be doin the 1st and 2nd session thing or the school could operate on quarters.

according to an anonymous member of the Tennessee coaching staff:

"Demetrice is a darn fine young man, and he's gonna work like heck to get back. But our focus is on Louisiana Lafayette. They're well coached and they're a darn tough football team."

That made me laugh. Does ULL's "D do a good job of mixing up things?" :)

he'd have to wait until the fall semester is over to be granted back into the university for the spring semester. they'd have to review his grades and all that jazz...

Athletes and anyone else who wants to can have a mid-semester report done by their professors showing how they are doing in a class. I even have one student who has one done every two weeks.

2008 Secondary

CB M Johnson
CB B Vinson
FS E Berry
SS D Morley

Not bad

everyone keeps looking forward to that secondary... that looks horrible to me. Vinson and Johnson have done nothing to show me they can be solid SEC corners. Sure, they haven't played much be the time they have played they have been very bad. When Morley played he was lost most of the time he was out there. All he was good for were a few solid hits which resulted in pass-breakups and an INT every now-and-then. I don't think Johnson would start next year anyways, it would prob. be Willingham. Either way, Berry is the only really talented DB in that group, and that is not good.

I think you may underestimate how important experience is at the secondary position. Berry and Vinson are both talented athletes and once they no longer have to think so much before the play and are able to simply react as the play unfolds they should improve considerably. I like em both and Vinson seems to be in position to make plays on the ball but just hasn't come up with the picks. Give em some time and a chance and they will not disappoint.

I'm willing to give Vinson a pass this season considering he was at WR all through out spring and summer.

IMO that will be one of the fastest secondaries UT has had. UT has had burners before (Wade), but never 3 of 4 guys in the secondary having that kind of speed. That is a very athletic group.

Berry, other than 2 interceptions, hasn't done any more that johnson or vinson. I recall him getting beat quite a few times on corner and safety. Vinson will be fine, as will Berry, Johnson, and Morley. Morley in his first year was just as impressive as Berry has been so far.

"All he was good for were a few solid hits which resulted in pass-breakups and an INT every now-and-then" You could be describing Morley or Berry right there. Both were freshmen thrown into the SEC. Both will be fine.

Yeah but despite all of this discussion, this thread is just plain wrong. The facts don't add up, and there is no source. Pure speculation.
