could be wrong but its probably which ever the player prefers.. both are good bats when i played i liked the Voodoo better

My favorite demarini was the diablo. It was a single piece like they have to use now. The thing could knock the ball a mile. Unfortunately, i think they quit making it a few years ago.

That's because Easton didn't release a true up to standard BBCOR bat last year. They were behind on it so they waited until this year. I have tested most BBCORs personally and also have spoke to many people who have purchased them and the consistant feedback is the S3.

I guess I am dating myself when I can tell you guys that I used a Easton Black Magic, watched Todd Helton swing the white Easton, then I remember the first carbon composite bats, C-Core I think that was what they were called by Easton. Of course, back then you could get a 33 inch bat 2 3/4 diameter and it just weighed 28 oz.
Would love to take a swing and actually feel the sweet spot on one of these new models the boys are using now. Just had to take a trip down memory lane.

I know Farragut is hitting Demarini too.

The word out is the Voodo is cap heavy while the CF5 is balanced more evenly and has a cupped end. Hitter preference.

Both are suppose to be solid choices.

MUDDVOL----The new bats they have been using past couple years are suppose to mimic wood bats so there isn't as much pop in them. Homeruns that were barely clearing the fence a few years ago are lazy fly balls now. Personally I like the new modifications because it brings the game back into it. The bats were getting so out of hand that kids that had no business hitting it out were parking it. Yes I know homeruns are glamorous, but the new bats make you learn to truly hit instead of just crushing it.

I laughed cause I used the same bats you did. Lol. I take it you graduated in the late 90's?

Some smaller schools are using them because they are a third of the cost. I wouldn't be surprised if they get banned. I know one bat model got the axe this weekend after day one.

The bat that was banned was the Marucci CAT 5. I think this is the second year they have been making bats.

They may cost the same to the public but the company is giving them away to colleges. That is the biggest reason so many smaller schools are using them IMO. When a bigtime school joins the party I will be impressed. Any big schools using them yet?

Back in the late 90's you could hit a ball a mile. I remember watching the LSU series in 96, I think at LNS. Batting practice simply consisted of seeing who could get the ball the deepest on the railroad tracks. I believe there was a sign back there that said park at your own [expletive] risk? Think I remember seeing that at camp one year. Anyway, good memories! Thanks for remembering with me!

Aaahhh the days of High School swinging the Easton Black Magic. I as well used that as the bat back then was a beast to say the least. Easton did also have that clear tip bat that was solid as a rock but weighed a ton. The c-core bat was junk and that was when they went downhill IMO. I have jheard that this new selection of Easton bats are pretty good but the best bat is the CF-5 for people hitting for average because its weight is evenly dispersed as advised. Power hitters are swinging the Voodoo because it is more end loaded and carries the swing. Man to still be playing huh?

Granted he is only 13 but I just bought my son a CF5 (-8) 2 5/8" barrel yesterday. He won't have to swing a (-3) until he gets to high school. It wasn't cheap.
