wait so it didnt get painted? didnt he have us in like first and there were rumors that we could get him to commit? if so then why didnt the rock get painted?
Just drove past the rock and a student died and there is a thing up about it. He died yeserday so I think it would be rude to cover it up. Posted via VolNation Mobile
I'm not disagreeing, but how long do you leave it up? It's obviously important to somebody and that's fine, I just think there are better ways to honor a loved one than painting a rock in the middle of campus...especially when the rock usually has sorority birthdays on it.
Nevertheless, my post was a minute after bwilli's and I didn't realize it was painted for someone who passed away.
I think that honoring of a students name on the rock is going to have a bigger impact than we think. In a earlier interview Cobbs said he was looking for a good Christian environment to play football. I can't think of a more fitting tribute than to honor the life of a student, and I think Cobbs would be more upset if his name covered the rock knowing the circumstances. THe rock is a form of campus unity.
It is a sigma nu that passed away. So it was probably done by some of the members. I think tom would be ok. That way they could get cobbs and taylor Posted via VolNation Mobile
I knew him personally and he was an all around great guy that everyone liked and he will be greatly missed. That said, i think its much more fitting to honor him on the rock rather than "Cobbs = championships" or whatever. I also think cobbs would agree.
When both Charlie the FIJI and the Sig Ep died while I was in school, both fraternitys got together and painted the rock in tribute to their fallen brother and took pictures with it (kinda like a funeral ceremony in itself). Both of these IIRC were up on there for almost a week and I believe it means alot more to these kids - probably who knew the guy the best - than any of us could imagine.
