Delusional Bama Fans

I have worked with a lot of people from Alabama. Based on my experience, about 20% of them are rational reliable people. The other 80% are either 1) very ignorant or 2) plagued with irrational arrogance. Sooooooooooo you can only rely on what the 20% rational group says and they don't talk unless asked, therefore if "they" are saying it you can assume ignorance or delusional arrogance. Ignore!!!:zeitung_lesen:

Dont you know everything is better in Alabama even their McDonalds are 5 star restaurants!

True Story - the friday night before the Bama game a few buddies and I stayed in Bessemer (just west of Birmingham) at the country inn and suites. We asked the manager what good restaurants there were besides mcdonalds, applebees, etc... He proceeded to tell us they had a "Macdonalds", a Subway, and right there across the street is an Applebees. We were in disbelief.

One could say that since teams are still throwing the ball Barron's way allowing for the int's while teams go out of their way to avoid Berry then Berry's reputation and skills stand on their own!:good!: lol

Berry is a great player, Barron may be great by the time he is done. He is very impressive that's for sure.

My arguement here would be this can be said about everyone's fan base regarding their own players.

EB is one of the top defensive players in the country and no matter what his stats are in college compared to other players, he will be just as dominate in the pros. Alot of great college players that do not amount to much afterwards, but the few like EB they do and we will about them more than 3 or 4 years.

Also I am not even shore if MB is the best DB on our team. The way M Johnson has broken up passes in the last two games he might be better. Also MB has only started 6 games this year.

Hands down EB the best DB in college right now and since he has been in school.

Agreed. It will be very hard for any player to be better than Eric Berry. Guys like this only come around every so often.

Can Barron be as good as Berry? I think it is possible, the next couple of years will play out and we'll all know. As far as him being better than Berry......I think it will be very difficult, as I said above players like this only grace college football periodically.

I'm sure some bama fans will believe Barron to be better, it's pretty common for fan bases to think their guy is better than ______. So far the kid has shown great potential, this has been one season and as we have seen play out with Berry every season is different. Many factors will be at play here, can Barron remain healthy, can he play at the same level from year to year? All questions we have to wait for the answers to.

I will say that Barron's chances are good given the talent he has surrounding him, if healthy he will be a great player.
Good post. I agree. :good!:

To bring the facts to this discussion, Barron leads the SEC in picks, and is third in the nation. He intercepted two passes last Saturday. He averages .60 interceptions per game...thats a damn strong stat. He returned one about 77 yards for a TD against South Carolina.
I'm not saying he's better than Eric Berry, I agree they are really playing two totally different positions, but there seems to be a few people here who aren't aware of what Barron has done in his first season as a starter.

Above poster let the conspiracy continue. :lolabove:

But an SC player does not fall on the ball.

It's a matter of millimeters as to whether he gets the TD or not. Crying about it won't change the fact that he returned it for 77 yards. Credit whatever other Bama player that covers it with the TD if it makes you feel better.

For the record, I don't think Barron is better than Berry, who is probably the most versatile player in the league, but Berry is moved around a lot, and isn't always a true corner. He's lined up all over the place as apart of Kiffin's schemes.

Barron has produced more than Berry has this year though. Not sure you can argue with the stats on that one.

a little off topic saban315 you saw even you beloved bammer-cheaters were afraid to throw the ball his way:pepper:

EB is definitely one of the best safeties I've ever seen. He is in on every play. I don't think many teams are going to be stupid enough to throw it his way. Barron is a good safety, but shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as EB yet.

Imagine, a reasonable point of view from both sides. COOL.

You may be able to compare the 2, in a couple years. Hard to make that comparison now. Barron is a great talent, with a bright future.

OK, ok. Does it really matter? Who plays for a team that is vying for another national title and who plays for a team that is hoping for a bowl? WHoop-de-doo! My Dad could beat up your Dad!

Evidently it matters to you, you're the one on this board.

you are a stupid fool if you think people are different once you cross the state line. you people on this forum seem to bash more states than any sports boards i go too, maybe its because you cant beat half of them in football, thats the only reason i can think of.

Players like Eric Berry are rare. They don't come around often. We'll see how well Barron does during the rest of his career. He still has two more years of eligibility left. I doubt how he will turn out as great as Eric Berry.
