One bad year from his unit and folks are ready to axe him? Heck what about all the other units that continually fail. Retaining Garner isn’t a bad move. Anyone else is fair game. I like the receiver coach I think he is good. After that I leave it too Heupel and Knowles. After all Heupel is the one that has to get it right. At this point with the D, anything Knowles wants to do it’s his D and he needs to put a stamp on it. Hopefully we form a true identity as a sound tough aggressive defense. GBO

Ok Josh. Your have to beat the best, to be the best. But our D line didn’t belong on the same field in Columbus in 2024 and numerous teams this yr. I bring up Columbus b/c I expect tn to compete for Titles- we weren’t competitive. You can make a case that D line got pushed around vs GA last season too.

Also, I mentioned the other losses so go back and reread.


The D line hasn’t played unto its potential this season- including last nt.

But again, I’m for keeping Garner.

No...they did not do it to everybody and the lost 2 games and had some close game...one being lowly Nebraska 21-17....Penn State 20-13. You might want to check the schedule. You make them out to be the 85 Bears.

Right since all the Pruitt linemen left the light has talent but they are soft with no dog in them at all and seem to be lost a lot

If Teelander ever figures out how to stop running himself out of making plays he will be solid. That dude has that dog in him just seems out of position making the wrong read or taking a bad angle when tackling.

In all the talk about Garner let’s not forget that he only coached part of the line. Chop is gone. It’s kind of indicative of Banks that they had a great D-line coach in Marion Hobby and promoted Chop. Shame they let him get away to Arkansas. I’d also take Hobby over Garner as I think he’s jumped the shark.

Inge? I was excited to get him, but the Lbs have sucked. How the hell Carter thinks he’s a top 3 round pick is beyond me. He was our best defensive front 7 player, but that ain’t saying much.

Apparently they did, and it was not good enough. You're in denial. They are what they are. Once you accept that, it will hurt less.

Then enlighten me with knowledge, but I’ll go first. He’s sent 2 DTs to the nfl in 5 seasons, one a transfer in Lott. Butler he had for 1 season.
I’ve been around for a minute. What a coach did 15-20 years ago at Ga doesn’t mean much to me. We got gashed up the gut all season by qbs and RBs and our senior DTs, the ones he recruited and developed, got shoved around all season, often by TEs like last night.
Sometimes reputation isn’t the same as reality.

Skooter,If you looked hard at last night's lineup,most of the evening was two dt's who were freshmen playing.Not with a couple of years weight training nd training table diet.Talent only lets you get so far.
