I was wondering why there are so many DEs in the top 100? It's probably a good thing for us as 10 of them have interest in UT.

I'm excited about how much Smith can help during the recruiting year.

I think both Walls and Williams are DE's now.

Walls is DT and Williams is SLB for now, but likely to move to DE.

The thing about DE's is the fact that elite pass rushers are very rare, which is why the few that are so great are ranked so high. So theres probably a better than usual crop this year, combined with the importance of the position.

I've heard many cfb recruiting analysts say that DE and QB are the 2 most important/hardest poisitions to recruit for.

Everyone wants to talk about the stud RBs and WRs, but those guys are a dime a dozen (give or take - obviously you have exceptions with kids like adrian peterson, percy harvin etc, but there are still 100 others for each one of them), but the passers and maybe even more importantly the pass rushers are very, very hard to find. At least elite ones are. That is why I feel very fortunate that the class is so loaded/so deep this year, our first full year of recruiting with this jacked staff that includes CEO and Monte. The 2 of them will hopefully haul in about 4 of these studs. This class could go a long way to solidifying our DL for the next few years if we can get a DT or 2.

I can't wait to have our team dominate the trenches once more.
