On the legit...whats it gonna take?

We had a record breaking yards for opponent today against TROY!

We couldn't contain a draw...a friggin draw....

Do we need a new DC? Has Dooley even acknowledged this deficiency? Scape Goat? Is it the backs coach? LB coach?

Do we need to clean house on the D side?

Is it lack of talent on the D side? depth?

Please help me understand....

I hate Chaney but he is like pure f'ing gold compared to the D...

Sunseri's resignation on the AD's desk Monday is a good start.

The draw was run several times and never was stopped. I don't understand what happened, half time adjustment? I watched on TV and the whole defense was just awful. Maybe with the exception of the 3rd and 1 in the last few minutes.

I didn't get to see the whole game, but noticed Troy receivers were running their routes untouched. I thought UT was going to be more aggressive and bump the WRs at the line?

We need a new defensive staff period. Kids are playing as they are taught. Our secondary has the softest players I've ever seen. They are afraid to bump a receiver on press coverage. Just because somebody knows a 3-4 defense does not mean they can teach it to players. There's a reason Sal was a linebacker coach and not a DC.

My thoughts:
1. There are problems in ALL areas
2. I don't understand why there are 2 coaches for DB's. 1 is safeties and 1 is corners. That doesn't seem to play well to a team concept in the defensive backfield.
3. With the excess of talent at WR, why aren't some getting playing time at DB?
4. The personnel are just wrong for a 3-4
5. Somebody must (MUST) have realized that this was a write-off year to prepare for a 3-4 in 2013 and forward
6. Troy is actually a pretty darned good offense as noted in all of the pre-game discussions
7. At least there aren't many pass interference calls against the Vols. They aren't close enough to the receivers

Our DBs' strategy seemed to be simply to chase behind each receiver until they caught the ball, and hope they had to break stride enough to tackle them before the end zone.
