Defense is awful

Jumper can't get off a block and McKenzie can't move laterally. They ran outside, blocked and cut blocked everyone all night..Greasy little QB killed us.. Bob Shoop continues to disappoint.. His defense looks like last year's end of the year version.

We'll never see that style of offense again. I really don't think our defense is that bad

Alabama will run it down our throat. So will every other team we face, why pass on a defensive line that has zero rush defense?

If they can't get Martin to play within 20 yards of the line of scrimmage, it will such then too. Does that guy think he is playing safety out there?

I don't think he thinks he's playing st all.
He doesn't cover anyone and when they throw it he doesn't tackle

The truth is we have potentially been blessed from the highest realms of heaven with a quarterback that can throw the ball. I am very optimistic with this one. Thus, we may be able to compensate for our poorly disciplined D.

Always easier to make corrections after a win! Defensive tackles were blown off the ball all night and the safeties could not get off blocks at all. Linebackers struggled with that on the corners as well.

Needs a lot of work but they made the final play.

Meh. They possessed the ball for over 40 minutes in regulation. I'm going to reserve judgement here. Credit for standing up on the last play. No way I could've.

Tennessee runs the spread or flex. Georgia Tech runs a similar offense. An intelligent person might think that since we run similar offensive schemes that the defense would be prepared for it and not give up 41 points. We have the rest of the season to see what happens.

Georgia Tech runs a triple option, not that similar.

I don't think that this game is the best indicator of what our defense will be, not everybody runs that offense. Let's reserve judgement until we play a more conventional offense.

May not be the best indicator, but we just gave up 500+ rushing yards....500. Not 200 or 300 or even God forbid 400.....but 500+ yards. Try and sugarcoat it all you want, but that defensive performance on the heels of last season's disasters vs Alabama, Kentucky, Missouri and Vandy.....we got serious defensive scheme and coaching issues on defense, because we definitely have the athletes.

This is the first time in a long time I would give Jones a F for a win. The team won despite him.

Probably the dumbest thing I've ever seen posted up in here.

Georgia Tech rewrote their record books. Paul Johnson owned Jones in the coaching arena. The talent on the Vols was just too good for their defense.

True, all because the offense couldn't sustain a drive. Did our offense even play the first half, having trouble finding any statistical proof that it even existed... Seems they kicked the ball to us several times, then poof, our defense would just reappear back on the field... Weird...

Our defensive tackles are flat out awful. Any team that can run between the tackles will have their way with us.

not those that attack the knees 5-6 yards down field..thos refs never tried to look for it..wanted GT to win in Atlanta from the get go.. watch the film..check your stats .

those guys was working for a bigger pay out.
