Defending Fulmer

using pundit support is allsome. Surely none of those guys saw the writing on the wall wrt Fulmer. I'm sure they all said keeping him was the route to the top and that we'd never win under 9 games again under Fulmer.

What should I do? Use GoF support? :eek:lol:

Actually, as I have said, I somewhat admire you and yours always looking for the superminority position and planting posts there. It requires a kind of revolutionary attitude.

The crime was firing said coach in the middle of the season

agreed. CPF should not have been fired in the middle of the season. he should have been fired at the end of the season.

the 2005 season.

This is my first and only post in this thread: Did Gibby let Phil eat some Krispy Kremes off his junk or something? Your overwhelmingly biased view of the unemployed former coach is absurd.

I am now dumber for having read this thread. I will never regain the I.Q. points I've lost reading Gibby and BigOrange's posts. Oddly enough, the amount of I.Q. points I've lost might come close to Gibby's and BigO's IQ combined.

You're just another of the 95% superminority.

I posted "Kiffin was flat out terrible running an SEC program in every aspect." To which you replied:

According to who? No one had a cross word to say about him prior to his departure and several pundits were predicting big things in the years to come. The players even said things were a lot better.

The assesment on Kiffin in the SEC is a consensus. He sucked. Feel free to find any reporter not in cardinal and gold that has anything pleasant to say about his running an SEC football program.

And as far as players lauding their head coach - you realize Fulmer's players took out an add in the paper talking him up. So based on your logic Fulmer was allsome.

Your ability to follow logic is terrible. Fulmer's players that had both Kiffin and Fulmer said that one was better than the other. How allsome is that?

Show me where all these guys in the SEC came to a consensus that Kiffin sucked. If that's the case, they must really have a low opinion of Dooley.

Try that Google thing out. Search "Kiffin in the SEC". I know it will be hard reading bad things about your idol.

Really tough stuff to read. Some fans didn't like his brashness and Urban Meyer didn't appreciate him talking smack. The horror.

UT fans weren't much for Spurrier's comments in the 90s. He must have been a terrible coach. I bet we used to really put it to him back in Phil's day.

I didn't talk to these guys with a camera rolling. And the ones I've talked to since Kiffin's departure maintain the same position.

OK. I talked to guys too and they said Kiffin sucked. We can both play the "inside information" card.

Misread. My mistake.

Say what you want about Kiffin. I can't stand him and hope he fails at everything he does professionally.

However you can't deny that he got a roster depleted of talent to play very hard during 2009 and the players were completely buying into his talk. I can't think of another SEC team, including Vandy, that had to start 3 walk-ons in their starting 22 but we did and went to a bowl game and almost beat the NC's that year.

Don't know if that will make him a great coach in the future, but what he tells the kids, they believe it and buy into it.
