I'm by no means a CPF fan BUT, he did have a career at UT that most coaches would kill for. Did the game pass him up-yes. Should he have been fired-yes, without question...are ur statements posted above true-hell no.

Luck may contribute to a win here or there, but not as many wins as he led UT too.

Outcoached? Phil would've clobbered LSU if it hadn't been for the attacks on 9/11. Gibbs said so himself.

LSU didn't win the 2001 SEC championship. Al-Qaeda did.

Pretty awesome how Fulmer's last five years against Bama and Florida include contests against superstars like Ron Zook and Mike Shula.

If you give Fulmer the same sample size as his successors, 2 years, his last two years the odds are:

Odds of winning against LSU, Alabama, Florida, or UGA: 14%

Odds of losing by 14 or more: 75% (just squeaked by UGA in 2008 with a 12 point loss, hurray!)

Except we caught Auburn on their run to two NCs, and had to play the best team of the noughties twice (and acquitted ourselves better than any other team in those games).

Fulmer needed to go. People can cry all they want but he had fell behind in coaching and was going to lose the fanbase with his "we're gonna work like heck to get it corrected". I hate it that some people cant let him go. It is over. He is gone to never return.

Umm they only have 1 trophy in the case not 2. USC would of mud stomped them. They barely beat V Tech.

Why am I surprised this post has absolutely no connection to the real world outside the back door?

The Auburn team STILL has over 20 guys in the NFL. That LSU team put more folks in the pros as well.

The Florida game being the week before (where, remember we were 18 point dogs) took a lot of energy out of us. We were double digit dogs (a Fulmer specialty) despite all that talent....

They would have taken USC behind the woodshed.

Tubby played it close to his vest when he was really close, but USC would not have stopped them while Auburn would have handled them easily. People forget, we were the only team to score more than 20 on them that year.

You do remember that if we played them in sept we were without one of our star receivers do to injury so would of probably lost. What was fulmers record in sept against Florida again.
